Hello, I am leader of a semi-open-source game mod that has grown to be stand-alone. Does that mean it should be under the indiedb? If that is so, I am wondering how to convert it to a game profile on indieDB without loosing the watchers, images, comments, download links, etc. The mod in discussion is: Moddb.com Thanks, Patrick |

Hello, there is a couple of issues with that. First, it's totally possible to move your mod to the ModDB/IndieDB Games section (/games rather than /mods on IndieDB), that will require some database manipulation and will keep all your watchers, comments, media etc. Second, it seems like there were some legal problems with Warlords Battlecry source code release. Summing up and nonetheless, it would be better for your mod to stay as a mod and require players to own the original WB III (require files from WB3). |

Thanks for the response. 1)In that case I wish that to happen simply because people who want to try out a new game will not search for it under the mods tab (but rather the games tab). 2)I have received personal approval from Steve Fawkner (head of Infinite Interactive) to make my mod stand-alone and have signed a contract to do not use it as a source of income or any monetary benefit whatsoever. Very nice. Contacted the founder of Mod DB to move your mod to Games section, hoping he'll move your profile soon. |
