so im planning to make a hl1 map campaign, but im not sure if i should put it as a mod or an addon, im pretty sure people prefer looking in the mod section instead of the addon section so what should i do?

I always thought that addons are these little packs that change certain aspects of a game or mod (like textures, music/sounds, weapons, models etc.) . If you are planning a Half-Life (or GoldSrc in general) campaign, I think it falls under the mod category, even if it only contains one map. How do you imagine it to be ? Glad to see another GoldSrc developer btw :D .

yeah im kinda starting making a goldsource mod, right now im having trouble doing a changelevel function, im putting landmarks, trigger_levelchange with a USE only (map change in an elevator) and i always end up stuck in the center

Great to see you are making a whole new mod rather than a small campaign after all :D . Make sure that the landmarks are in the EXACT same position in both maps. If you need any further help just PM me ;) .

Also, check out this site Twhl.info . It has a lot of great tutorials and a GoldSrc and Source dedicated community.

thanks, it helped and it worked! the problem was that i used the USE ONLY keyvalue on trigger_changlevel because i thought that was the function for the use key

alright, now time to make my mod even better!

You can have a mod profile if you want, gives people more options to track your progress and you can post news and images, addons dont support this.

Yep. Your very own mod page (profile) :D . Glad you've managed to fix the level transition error!

First of all, welcome to ModDB ;) . Secondly, I believe you should have posted your question here. No worries though.

If they are your reskins, then upload them again as 'addons' . Don't care what people say. If the reskins are not yours then check out if they have already been uploaded by someone else on ModDB. If not, upload them yourself, but don't forget to give a proper mention of their original creator.

So, you made something yourself, asked from Romka the hand models AND took permission. I can't see why you shouldn't upload your skin pack :) .
