Me and my friends have been planing this idea for a while...

the idea is for an FPS mod to a large online multiplayer game, ones we have in mind are:

- Battlefield Vietnam
- Half Life 2
- Unreal Tournament 2004

The idea is for a mod based on recent conflicts involving the british army from around the Falklands, kosovo, northern ireland to Iraq.. the mod will not have a set time scale but as i said will be based on recent conflicts including:

(basicaly all major conflicts from 1950s onwards...)

- Korean War
- Northern Ireland
- East Timor (possiblity)
- Gulf War (Iran - Iraq war)
- Falklands
- Kosovo (possiblity)
- Afghanistan (War on Terrorism)
- Iraq - Operation Iraqi Freedom

Each conflict will have 2-3 different maps based on famous battles inside those conflicts and they will be designed for online/multiplayer mainly.

High quality models and textures, vehicles (depending on the game), more foot soldier based, realitic battles-which means no quake style death matches as your are hit, you loose hit points over time depending on where you were hit and how badly you were hit, you walk slower and your accuracy is reduced.. night operations, special operations such as Bravo Two Zero etc....

these are all just ideas, me and about 4 or 5 people who i know (2 of which are modders who have been doing work for over 2 years) we have discussed it for a while and come up with lots of clever ideas we will keep close to our chest for now..

Me and my friends are quite serious modders and arent the sorts to be abandoning or starting a mod and then leaving it for 2 months... (ignore the mod that my profile says im currently working on, not a full blown mod of mine)

Sound like a plan?, Sound like a Flop?, Anybody Interested? ... C&C Welcome

Don't do it for hl2, not only is there a plethra of mods you will get buried in. THere is no release date.

lol, exactly what i said to my friend (as he is the one wo suggested it as he used to mod for HL1) , even if they are all crap most good modders are heading towards HL2.. so ill be awash in a sea of mods and never get noticed. :)

Yeah lots of HL2 mods seem to be a collection of weapon renders more than a mod :p well I wanted UT2004 (because the engine is so damn kick ass) and my mate wants HL2 so we both met halfway on BFV :) (as he was working on a mod called 'cold war rivals' for BF1942 before) and BF can cope with large maps and can have massive numbers of people per server
