Brief description:
The development of Night Fall started July 20th 2009

If you want to make a game that may actually go somewhere - this may be your chance. I would like Night Fall to be an online 3D medieval role playing game very similar to D&D, with realistic style graphics and a non-target combat system similar to 2d Zelda games or Super Smash bros melee.
The game will have two groups of races - 1)Under-dark 2)Surface. Players can play as the Under-dark or Surface races. The Under-dark and Surface will constantly fight one another, due to racial and cultural differences/misunderstandings that spiraled out of control.

Surface player's combat skills will be affected negatively when in the Under-dark at night, and Under-dark player's combat skills will be affected negatively when on the Surface during the day; Hence the project title Night Fall.

The game's maps can already be edited in real time, and updated/uploaded for everyone online in real-time. We plan to have ever changing environments that the player can change slightly, or significantly given a large amount of time. Certain spells may even be able to change the very ground the player stands on.

The team is very open to game ideas; here are just a few that crossed our minds:
Pure role-play server. (you act and do what your character would, nothing OOC)
17+ server.
Small player base. (120 players max)

Around 60 - 120 players online simultaneously are to be supported when we first start. We already have a server running the game.

Target aim:
Free. With options to pay for additional features, perhaps an "item shop".


Compensation:
Offering a percentage of potential revenue(if there will be any)/non-paid until game starts seeing revenue/We'll be paid monthly once we start to see some revenue.

Features:
Some of the features that the game has already includes but is not limited to the following:

Advanced tool-set (used for editing maps / DEV-ing), Voxel Terrain System, Terrain tessellation, Advanced particle effects, Hierarchical animation, A patcher, Multiplayer system, Effects such as reflections, Fog, Alpha Rendering, Transparent Textures, Opacity rendering, Primitive bump mapping, Texture blending (for terrain), HSLS(High Level Shader Language), Interpolation, Grass generation, Night/Day cycles, Advanced Physics and there's much more to come.
Engine from scratch, the only things that are not from scratch are the physics, networking, and 3d rendering programming (PhysX, RakNet and DirectX used)


Talent needed:
3D Character and Creature Modelers
Design, model, texture 3d characters and creatures
Knowledge of any 3D software listed above, and passion for creating character and creature models

3D Environment Modelers
Design, model, texture 3d buildings, architecture, plants, vegetation and basic scenery of the game world
Knowledge of any 3D software listed above, and passion for creating buildings, architecture, plants, vegetation and basic scenery of the game world

2D Artists
Create textures for in-game objects, terrain, architecture and GUI
Knowledge of any 2D software listed above, and good developing sense of 2d design and painting background

Sound Composers
Create in-game music/fx sounds for the game's setting

Designers
Design environments, in-game items, dungeons and/or game world events
Creative and passionate mind, it is preferred that you are an artist

Basic drawings to help out map designers, or mesh modelers

Writers:
Write the main story for the game, more on that can be found here.

No programming help is needed.

Server should be running 24/7

The game is under "NightFall 2/Game" (once you finish using the updater)
If you get any error messages run the executables under "NightFall 2/Install/", most common would be that you don't have PhysX.

*Please note that a few of the meshes seen in the game were downloaded from turbo squid and will not be included in the final release. (around 0.3%)
