MARSbot Thread

Right. Those of you who were in IRC in the good old days™ will remember a colourful character called MARSbot. Now, I'm thinking of resurrecting him, so what would you like him to do?

Already planned:

• AI (ALICE) for getting involved in conversations.
• 'This channel is too boring' function for keeping the place alive'.
• modDB searching ("What is the URL for Natural Selection?", "Who is INtense!?", "What is the capital of Asyria?").
• Support for textesque abbreviations ("u", "lol" etc).
• Comprehensive n00b-friendly AIML sets.
• Quick answers for common questions ("What is a mod?").
• Bayesian language filter to pick out the general idea of convoluted sentences.
• Graceful dealing with missed letters and typos.
• Phonetic translation for text.
• Support for abbreviations ("NS", "HL2", "UT", "SDK" etc).

OMG!!! Please do this Jackson I would love it if you resurrect the dear ol MARSbot!!

Suggestion? Give him a hat.

But really, he needs to get over his preoccupation with wanting to kill me.

I think maybe a random mod of the hour or something would be cool, if it was quite, he'd annouce it, and then continue to shout random facts every so often.

Theres probably some sort of tie in with the help wanteds you could do to, like if someone asks for a coder, it directs them to the help wanted, or if the offer to help it records that or something. Just random ideas.

Jackson04 is awesome though for bringing back our friend.

Umm, a self destruct button, just in case something happens like when I had my bot and your and my bots started talking to each other and wouldn't stop (both where AIML run).
