Hello everyone, We are in the midst of developing a 2D retro dungeon crawler RPG called Dungeons of Daggerhelm and we need a dedicated, experienced programmer to continue development of the game engine. The structure of the engine is about 60% finished, custom built in Eclipse, and will need significant additions to it in order to meet the suggested goals for pre-alpha testing. Game pitch: Dungeons of Daggerhelm (DoD) is a retro-style dungeon-crawler RPG based on the concepts and inspirations gleaned from Realm of the Mad God and Diablo. The game involves loot tables, armor, weapons, playable classes, and an intuitive system which allows players to switch between classes whenever they'd like at any point during the game. DoD currently supports four classes: Paladin, Sorcerer, Ranger and Battle-Mage with many more to come in the future as possible unlockables. Combat is much like point-and-click for ranged classes but it is based on predicting an enemy's movement and appropriating accordingly when a mistake is made. Melee classes are also click-based but deal area-of-effect damage depending on which direction they are facing. The game is currently playable with a few bugs that crash the game. We are looking for a Java programmer that is willing to fix these errors and attend to this list of priorities before pre-alpha release: - Completing and improving melee combat system (currently broken) Game sale royalties for all team members will be accounted for closer to the date of official release. If you want to know more about the game, visit the project page ( Indiedb.com ). If you are interested in joining this project, email us at renderedworld7@gmail.com and we will correspond with you as soon as we can. Happy gaming! The Rendered World Team |
