HI there im looking for a free porgram that can allow me to burn a tv series to a dvd so i can use it on my dvd player. Ive searched the internet and all i can find are trials, over complicated and restricted programs. Basicly all i want to do is burn several tv shows to a dvd so i can watch it on my dvd player with a menu so i can select which episode to watch. Does anyone know of such a program? it would be a great help to me and would end my dissapointing search.

Kind regards

Nero will do it. Just so you know its not just "burning" its a complicated process of converting said files to be able to be played within a device that can read these files. So basicly your movies will need to be changed quite a bit, and if you want to burn a series then your in for a shock about just how long this will take. What I would suggest you look at is something along the lines of a media pc or box. This can be anything from a crappy pc hooked up to a network to a wireless streaming device, it might cost more then some blank media but in the long run it will save you so much time and energy.

nah i dont want to go through that much effort, i only want to do it this one time. As for nero, the last time i downloaded it from the site i got a virus so i thought sod it, then my brother gave me his nero on his pen drive and it gave me another virus ! although this to me just means my anti virus (AVG) see's it as a virus but actually isnt.

nero's site doesn't have viruses, so either your AV is giving a false positive or you have something on your machine that's getting a virus while you're on the web.

You're looking for a DVD authoring app. Sony's DVDA comes with a 30 day trial. That's all you need. Drop/drag the video files to the menu GUI in the program, hit "make DVD" & let it go for a while.

but the original files can't be an mpeg format. That's not included in the trial, so they need to be WMV, quicktime, etc.

One that's simple and cheap is TMPGenc DVD Author.

Free is kinda of hard to find. There is some out there but they're not as sophisticated as the pay options (even the cheap pay options).

this does not belong in cosmos.

Alright, dont know why you care so much to say it, seemed like a good place to me, you're off topic, a moderator can move it if they want. Where do you think it belongs?

general.

cosmos is for broad, important, intelligent discussion.

not people asking for a tool o they can pirate TV.

Woha, when did i say i was pirating? you were quick to judge that. Ever heard of Sea lab? you cant buy that, unless it some sucka thats done what i want to do. So think before you judge, and stay on topic, i dont see an 'off topic' area anywhere, theres no description of what is meant to go in 'cosmos' for a user that doesnt use these forums much, just hangs around, how am i mean to know its for 'broad, important, intelligent discussion'? or did you just decide thats what its for?
I made this post in the hope that some nice people would help me, out as most people here seem like good mature people.
