Leakfree.org is a Source Engine Development Community that has now been in business since August, aproximately 150 users have registered within us since then, and we now have a thriving community. Since we're a Source Engine development community, that means we're not restricted to Half-Life 2 development and modding only. We will also focus on Bloodlines editing.

Leakfree is also the founder of the mod Black Mesa: Source. Black Mesa: Source is a Half-Life 2 modification determined to recreate Half-Life 1 on the Source Engine from the ground up, keeping the original as much intact as it possibly can meaning plotlines, concepts, ideas, level layouts, characters, weapons and monsters will be left the same, except with MASSIVE graphical improvements. We intend to increase polycounts on monsters, weapons, NPCs, weapons and more and put forth the Black Mesa Research Facility the way it was meant to be seen and to give players the chance to fight the battle the way it was meant to be fought. Chapters and the Facility itself will be rebuilt from the ground up with care taken to keep most of the areas the same, but with major improvements in design, architexture, and more. If you're interested in joining the mod team please stop by, we're always looking for talented people to help realize this project.

In general our website is about news concerning the Source Engine and providing help for any type of modding of the engine, either you use Bloodlines, Half-Life 2 or CS:S as your platform. So if you're interested please stop by, new faces are always welcome. Keep the community growing.

If you're interested in writing or making video tutorials make sure to give us a "call".

I would like to point out that Half-Life: Source is more of a direct port with a 'copy and paste' attitude concerning it. Valve Software has even said time and time again that it will not be spending much time redoing Half-Life 1 on the Source Engine and that a remake of Half-Life: Source would be inveitable (simply because the community would want better). Our knowledge of Half-Life: Source is what sparked our modification and we plan to out-do it in every possible aspect, tieing the Half-Life 2 storyline together with Half-Life 1, really pushing the Source to its limits in terms of level design and models.

We at Black Mesa: Source want you to "Run. Think. Shoot. Live. Then reload and do it all again."

Yes, but what I think he means is that all they did with HL: Source is move the origonal maps, models, and code onto the Hl2 engine. Sure there are pixel shadows and ragdoll, but there is no light source for the shadows so they don't move like they are suppost to. They never switched the light sources in the maps where the lights so up, so the shadows cast in one spot and stay there.

Also goes with the maps, they are just HL1 maps moved onto HL2 engine. What I also think he means is recreating the maps to be more detailed, but still same in dimentions. I wouldn't mind playing a TOTAL revamp of HL1 on the Source engine, infact, id prefere it.

Anyways, whatever you do, good luck.
