Joust mod update Thread

Originally we planed on only making a small jousting mod, but after hearing the opinion of the people we have decided to add a town that you can roam around in, in between matches, and other different medieval games besides jousting. I have already begun work on making the town and have so pics to show off .

These are still being worked on, but it shows the building styles that are going to be used in the mod.

Yea sorry if its too dark but thats what they will look like in game.

ya it looks a little dark and gloomy, sort of the medieval theme, but a little haunted feel. not exactly what i think of when i think of medival games but they look good

I tried to add tourches and stuff but when I do, it crashes so I just left it like this. We will more than likely find a way to do it before beta is released.

well how are you lighting it, could it just be the enviroment lighting. i think you just need to work on that, its nothing wrong with the texutures or the building, its just he light_environment probably

Yea i just have one light_env in there I prolly need to turn it up.

use a second and lighten them and also change the direction to a few degrees different or so, experiment a little. looking good htough

I know this is kind of sudden, but I think you should make 3d naked people and have a sex mini-game with it.

its the old arcade game where your dude rode an ostritch around, stomped on other birds, and stole thier eggs while avoiding lava pits n' stuff. all around great.

Whatever this game used to be it has nothing to do with Joust mod it only shares half a name... As for naked people and crap... im only the mapper so you will hafta take that up with stormy. Thanks for the feedback, at least the part of it thats helpful.

bjuildings were made out of stone by medievil times, which is why your houses look so hanuted instead of medievil(not including the lighting problem)

yeah unless youre in some villiage in the middle of nowhere!

you should do them with thatched roofs! the shop looks good though.

im not saying it is a problem with how the buildings look at all, its a lighting problem

Yea most of the buildings I found on google image search look just like the ones in the pics. As for the lighting when the town is complete there will be lighting coming out from inside the buildings light from the sun ect. This was more to show off the buildings themselves and not the environment .

Maybe if you added some colourful red/blue banners, to give the theme of medieval games if you know what i mean? Im not sure how historically accurate it would be, but i could model them in 3ds max for you?

That would be cool. This is more for the actual town part of the game but we do need banners that show that the places are weapons or armoury shops.
