hey, --- Operation : Shadow Phoenix Storyline --- The year is 2015. The world appears much the same with few tensions between World leaders and is nearing complete harmony. It was at this problem free time in history the most bizarre thing known to man took place. Due to increasingly relaxed inter-agency communications, rumors of bizarre happenings in different parts of the world began to spread. Important people in society and government knew that what was being reported was true, and an increasing number of people became interested in that which they were keeping a careful watch on. Scared that events could damage the general calm engulfing the earth at this time, an elite team of Army Rangers was ordered to the epicenter of the increasingly bizarre happenings. Deep in deserted Arizona wasteland, the elite group appeared on radar screens. With anticipation they watched with frozen breath as a seemingly fiery object sped over their heads and over a ridge. Following protocol, the fateful men and women headed in the westerly direction of the anomaly. The closer the Rangers came to the point of impact, the more clearly they could hear a high pitched shrill cry that viciously attacked the ear drums like a thousand bullets. Cry after cry, each resonating as loud as the previous. The shrieks rattled the Hummers and soon after they skidded over a dusty dune, only to behold a large, rock-like mass embedded into the hot dust. The air felt foreign and the wailing continued to pierce the mind. Birds circled the skies above. Only the calls of these birds, although muffled, seemed distinctively different. Suddenly, a fiery, bird-like creature sluggishly came into view – its wings gesticulating wildly in the air, screaming as loud as alienly possible. Upon seeing this threatening creature, the team of rangers acted quickly, on Shoot First Ask Questions Later impulses. The flimsy wings of the creature were no match for the Rangers weapons so it quickly found itself maimed on the heat parched ground. At this, the circling birds started to swoop defensively and attack the Rangers. Flapping their strange wings and squawking while the aching alien lay on the ground unable to fly away. What seemed to be birds was now clearly something far from it! Ten’s of the bird-like creatures swooped trying to protect their fated mother. The skill of the Rangers prevailed, and they were now able to take a closer look at the injured creature. Struggling, wriggling and writhing on the desert floor the defenseless creature was naked for all to see. Shamed at now being bound to the ground it stopped its calling. Its limp serpent like body lay baking in the heat of dusk as the flames – now much paler – swept up and over its huge lava-like body. Calling the creature a Phoenix, the Rangers reported in and were ordered to wait for more teams to assist in removing all from the scene for a closer scientific examination. Knowing that the Worlds leaders would have many questions, the authorities of America securely dispatched some of the lesser important and dead ‘finds’ to different leading scientific laboratories worldwide. With the alien technology and creatures – both dead, and one very much fatefully alive – in safe hands for scientific analysis the world leaders existed in a state of unrest, not knowing how to further act on the events that had unfolded. Not much time had passed before the dilemmas continued to hang over the heads of powerful men. Within a few days of the Phoenix alien being held captive, astronomical agencies around the world began to report strange happenings in a particular sector of the night sky. Immediately after the request had been made, HST was positioned to hone into the murkiness to shockingly reveal space ships similar in style to the one that had been salvaged in the Arizonian desert. Reasoning that this could pose a potential threat to the security of many – what if these craft were to crash into the earth just like its counter-part? – a council of world leaders and security agencies was brought together: much to the curiosity of the mass media. Officials were uninterested in the prospect of mass hysteria, until it was possible for the averagely intelligent to look up into the sky with a telescope and see for themselves that the sky looked different…. At this time it was finally acknowledged that astrological anomalies seemed to be traveling toward the Earth and that it was something that would not be of concern to the populous. It was claimed, according to reliable scientific sources, that whatever it was would be destroyed in the Earth’s atmosphere. However, unknown to millions, a growing number of teams were being assembled and debriefed on the situation at hand. Each team became familiar with the anatomy and known technology of the creatures both dead and alive. Due to the firm and direct announcements made about the anomalies heading toward the planet it was clearly of some shock when the formation of the object in the sky broke and thundered down to different parts of the Earth. Chaos ensued, and as games of politics were put in to play between world leaders and the world’s inhabitants, the elite teams were dispatched accordingly to the average positions of the space craft. It was soon clear that the Phoenix were all in the direction of the laboratories and institutes their technology, dead comrades and their Queen were located at. An army of aliens was to reclaim their Queen. Presumed to be hostile, each team was ordered to decommission anything they may encounter. The situation needed to be controlled before pandemic hysteria could set in… Operation Shadow Phoenix had begun… -- Pimpaging -- ---------------------------------- Enjoy, and please drop a line in the forums at the sit e:) |

Heh, that mp7 really puts mine to shame That Phoenix is awesome I think the main reason it looks so awesome is that its one of the only HL2 mods that has actually skinned their models - Edited By a_llama On Thu 5th, Feb 2004 @ 7:42:41am |

nice stuff, but what is the game about, i went to the about section in the site and it talks how hard modding is, i think we all know that, but what about the gameplay, if you elaborate on that i think more people would be interested. -- I want to make a mod like counter-strike but with more guns ,3 teams (maybe),and better gfx !!, |
