I have already notified XMOD and Marvel Power Battles on this matter.

Marvel now officially equals Funimation now. Their comics are great, but their reputation with modders isn't.

But Funimation doesn't make comics.

I am making a mod about Spiderman. And will not stop. Marvel, send me all your lawers, hahahahahaha.

CheapAlert, you make it sound like Marvel and Funimation are doing business together now, which I doubt.

Point being, since Marvel is now turning a profit for the first time in its existence as a publicly-traded company, they will now commence being IP-selfish. Get the hell out of their way, man.

doesnt the Fair Use section of the 1976 copywrite act apply to MODs?

if not half of the MOD community is going to have to drop their websites and use P2P networks to distribute MODs

A cease and desist isn't a temporary thing. I would say continue until they make a formal statement or contact you personally. They need to announce that they are taking legal action against violators and not just on a couple random sites.
