I know the very very basics of c++, and i'm talking basic, i can make the hellow world app, and that's about it. But i want to learn how to code, because i want to start working on mods. I already msvc++, thanx to kazaa, hehe, so i was just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction or give me some sources from which i can learn to code. Working on a HL mod is kinda a new dream of mine, so it'd be nice if you would help, so i can achieve my dream. Good Luck! Maybe you can start with planethalflife or something similar, collect docs about HL modding. Or maybe you can start reading real life books to improve your C++ skills. Try to write small apps, command line, or ...hell... "visual" apps. Learn the good way, avoid "lame" code. Learn how to code trees, lists, recursion, file access, sockets access, memory management, etc.. and get a mod source, and hackint adding your features. Maybe enhance weapons or add a new weapon, etc.. Good Luck! |

Thanks Tei! I'll check into that stuff. I have been looking for c++ book for a while, but i live in a small town with absolutely nothing in it, and no store here sells them.
