how would you feel if one admin banned all your mods just because they were on freewebs? i remember asking if freewebs was allowed and it was. this is after all my mods were accepted. i got into a little argument with one admin and he banned all my mods and work and made an excuse that he didnt like freewebs. i am so incredibly mad i dont want to even type anymore. goodnight

The rules of ModDB state you must have a website for your mod:

Frankly a n00b web designed wouldn't call 4 of 5 of your mod sites web sites.

Sure around 5 to 10 minutes effort has been put into these sites but they are useless in term of promoting your mod which is the main reason why we at ModDB want mods to have mod websites running, as another method of promoting your mod as ModDB cannot promote a mod to it's full potential.

I must admit though I do like the work and effort you put into your Shadow Lore ( Planetgargoyle.com ) website, why couldn't this kind of effort be put into the other 4 website?? Sure they don't have to be hosted at Planet Gargoyle, but I'm sure you could find some free mod related hosting without much effort, for instance you could ask BlueWolf72 if your site could be hosted at Hl2db.com

Look i have to agree. Unfortunatly mate this site has 50,000 members and they all complain when we auth mods which don't have webpages or just have very small 'hardly done' webpages, so its you vs 50,000 other people, not you vs. 1 admin.

We also are very fair here, fix up your mod and make a real effort and we will gladly authorise it for you.

Not to mention, all 5 are templates taken from free template sites. Please, try to make or find someone who can make a site for you. You'll get that someone when you get progress for your mod. Don't submit to Moddb until then (we have a site about to go up, so sorry if we don't have a whole lot ourselves )

I just talked to david on the phone, hes my friend. Can you un-ban all of his mods becuase he said he would improve the sites in the future. He doesn't want to lose all of his mod profiles. He called me on the phone because he had to go, and needed me to post this for him and wasn't able to go back on the computer. thanks.

that is incredibly lame.

Also, simple KEY CONFIGURATION files are not mods, and htere's not even a reason to zip AND rar the 800 byte key configuration file.

Modifications change gameplay. Key configs don't. And having to flame in my profile that you love your keyconfig in every single way of being a "mod" is pathetic as well.

His banned mods like any banned mods will not be touched by me and will site in the system for ~2 weeks until they come up for review and we decide weather or not sufficient changes have been made to make the mod acceptable or otherwise for ModDB.

I'd have to agree. An unprofessional website doesn't make me jump at trying out the mod. If the mod is as poorly done as the site, why should I waste my time?

Cheap is right as well.

He didn't make the site, Shadowdragon did.

Donno why you're taking this in the forums, but I can't see anyone having sympathy for the ban of your key config and "blood removal" patch.

Actually, im pretty sure ShadowDragon didn't use a template for Shadow Lore.

But ya David, just take a breather and make up a bit of a site. No prob, can get it all done in about, 20 min.

Since I wrote those submission guidelines they've been rolled out so many times it's depressing.
