How To Force Steam Into Offline Mode Have you ever been stuck in the middle of nowhere without internet, expecting to simply just launch Steam in offline mode? But then, all of a sudden, a message pops up. "Steam requires an update to continue, check your network connection and try again."? Did it irritate you? Was you bored for a long period of time because Steam wouldn't launch in offline mode? Well not anymore! I have found an extremely easy, fast, and reliable solution for this problem. Are you ready? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Open up notepad and type in..... BootStrapperInhibitAll=enable ForceOfflineMode=enable Save file as "steam.cfg" in your steam folder, it forces offline mode. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This worked perfectly for me, I can't garuntee the same for everyone. But it will most likely work for you too. Edited by: MysteriousGamerDude -- -MGD |

So for this you don't need to uncheck the "save credentials" box & click "offline mode" when it loads up? If so, that's pretty sweet! -- Go play some Quake 2: q2server.fuzzylogicinc.com |
