HI guys,Don't know if this is in the right thread. I spoke to one of a developer and indicated that in order to get my game to multiplayer I need to look into finding a good server. Any suggestion on a company to research? I'm looking for a server that can host potentially 4 - 6 players in a lobby without major lag. If I can't fill the lobby up I would auto-fill the lobby with bots.

There are so many good, big and small hosting companies. Just google it and you'll find millions of results.
I wouldn't worry about the 4-6 players because even the cheapest servers have the performance to do this mostly lag free.

Thanks Phoenix. My developer must be playing me or very worried that he can't get what I need done. He was mentioning about lag, Ping, 3g, regionalisation etc..

Sorry Phoenix - I think I missed a key part of my question, would the host companies (small) are able to host hundreds of lobbies globally with 4 - 6 players in them? Or would you suggest large companies?

Hundreds of lobbies on one server or on hundreds of servers? I don't know if some companies would give you that many servers, but then you need really big ones that can give you a bunch of them.
I don't think lag/ping is that heavy if you watch the up and downlink at the product sites (something about that is always written there).

I'd prefer hundreds of lobbies on one server as long as it can handle the data but hundreds of servers would work.

What game & what do you mean by "finding a good server." Do you mean server HARDWARE or game sever SOFTWARE?

The guy who runs Tastyspleen.net rents computers and runs his site + ftp + user accounts + servers from those machines.

It really depends on what server hardware you pay for. A really good server can maybe hold 400-600 players without lags but then you may get a big ping. Just watch what you're paying for and invest a little bit - nobody wants to play on a server with 500 ms ping ;)

Trying to find quality servers and all I can see is Minecraft servers, counter strike, COD servers etc. Can anyone please recommend a link where I can find server/s for mobile gaming?
