Homeworld 2 mods Thread

i want to install a homeworld mod, but dotn want to compleatly change the game so that i cant play teh regular homeworld game. does anyone know if there is like, a selection bar to chose if you want to use a mod or not, or do i need to make a backup or something. thanks for any advice.

I think you have to make a backup. And I'd advise doing that anyway - you know, just in case !
