HL2 small mod???? Thread

I was just wondering if anyone has been makeing or thought of makeing a Deathmatch for HL2... but when I say Deathmatch I don't mean guns and bazookas I mean put lots of items in a map give everyone a gravity gun and chop each others heads of

that seems like something that could be easily made by a mapper alone, i guess you best of start by firring up that hammer thing.

i seen an article somewhere that shows how to start a half-life2 deathmatch game.

To create a server Half-life 2 is a very simple process. Just follow these simple steps and you'll be fragging in half-life 2 sooner than Lamarr can hump head.

Step 1
Navigate to the directory containing Steam.exe
Step 2
Then goto SteamApps/YourUserNameXXX/half-life 2/cfg
Step 3
Create a new text file and name it servermode.cfg
Step 4
In the file and the following
net_start
sv_lan 0
deathmatch 1
maxplayers (whatever you want)

Step 5
Save the file and load up Half-life 2
Step 6
Open the console and type exec servermode.cfg
Step 7
Now in the console type map
Step 8
When it loads up open console up and type restart

but no server list etc.. its just not the same

Someone should throw one together, just using the same process basically done by the above but make it come up on the list.

And please, someone do TDM and CTF, I can't imagine how much fun the game will be with multiple Pheromones + Ant Lions, the Sentry Guns, mobile shields and such, as well as the "Pulse Batteries" for keeping away Ant Lions, could add alot. DM will be fun but, I have to say many of the weapons are complimentary and party helpful, you just can't kill enough people with a few Ant Lions, but you can sure annoy people in sniper positions and guard locations well.

I think there's lot of hl2dm type mods being made or planned already.

I can't wait for them to come out cuz if they are being made than they should be one of the first couple of mods to come out sense there realy isn't much work in it

im having trouble finding the console in HL2

you have to enable it in your options

then it's the ~ key
