HELP WANTED - Dark Colony HL2 Thread

Hello!
I'm looking for members to join me in creating a mod for Half-Life 2. It will be a futuristic warfare type of mod with soldiers, mechs, hovercraft, watercraft, and more. Not only can you play through a single-player adventure, but also multi-player co-op or deathmatch. (As well as some other multi-player modes.) For more information go to my site. Half-Life experience:

I've been mapping for almost 6 years now. I have also spent almost the same amount of time in several co-leader positions, as well a PR position.

I was part of the RE-TE mod for quit some time. (About 3 years)

Position: Lead mapper for about half of that, as well as did a bit of PR.

I Have plenty of software background as I have been in College for 4 semesters now majoring in Software Eningeering Technology. I will have taken my first C++ course after this fall semester, as well as a webauthoring class which will teach how to use php and asp better to my advantage.

Other than that: I will see this mod through to the very end and can see great things from it. I don't intend to make it famous, however the public shows its support for what it likes, so who knows; maybe everyone will like it and it will go far.

Not exactly like the others man..i have a lot of new ideas for it...the basic idea of "space marines" as you called it isn't original, no. But many of the ways in which they attack, are dropped into the battlefield, etc. are very original and will make for a very interesting game. I don't have a webmaster yet or i'd get a better webpage up and upload more content... As for joining another mod...no can do. I want to do my own. Once i get some modelers and concept artist i will get some images up of what i invision it being like. I know it is hard to see it the same way I do without images. No, a lot of it isn't original in idea..but the way it is presented will be so much ebtter than the way other mods are doing it. Ever seen Macross? I haven't seen a mod that comes even close to that in the way combat is depicted.

I wanna see the Mad Max movies. Because, y'see, I LOVED the Fallout games. They are probably both in my top 5 games list, because they are so FUN, COOL, and I love the STYLE.

No, never played it. I've seen screenshots to discourage me.

Exactly my thinking...my mod will mix quit a few "styles" in order to make it fun..you wont be stuck with one type of area to play in..not all maps will have aircraft..and not all with have watercraft..etc. I know it truely does sound very unoriginal..but please be respectful of my help wanted ad..i dont mind the jokes, but it's my idea...and it will be a lot of fun to play...

...the hl2 engine has presented a way to make a "space marine" mod (as you called it) that will blow people away. anyone who has watched Macross or gundam wing wil lreally appreciate my mod. It will also appeal to those who are fans of CS, as it will incorporate some missions where only foot-soldiers are available for each team.

No jokes, really. By the way, it's really sad that your mod goes against all my interests Too bad. It's only me though, maybe I'm weird.

I completely understand that..some people dont like warfare mods...it's cool..i just want people to see what i have to offer in this idea..which is all it is so far as i dont have any kind of team yet. Thus, my reason for posting.

i should consult with intense about adding omf as a mod game, as the devs have worked hard to make it easy to mod

It's not Warfare... it's just that almost all recent FPS games bore me. I've seen three too many games about space marines blowing stuff up and more too many games about people shooting people with guns based from real life. Those games are monotonous, repetetive and BORING. Pretty maps and models can't save them. Even Elite Force 2, with all its (albeit dorky) dialogue and storyline, was dead boring at times.

come play omf with me then sa, its completely new and different, and never been done before!!

One must fall? Didn't epic release that game a decade ago?
