Ever since I made a mod with HL2:EP2, the grid is black. Now the camra works if I've loaded a map, but the grid is still black. Now if I map with TF2 everything's normal. I realey want help because I'm makeing a mod and I don't want it to tank. :(

This has happened a few times in the past. I remember it happened to me numerous times after an update was bugged.

I've haven't stayed in tune with Source SDK updates lately but if there was a recent patch that broke it then there will be a hotfix soon I should think but alternatively you could try using an older version of the engine temporarily. Most features will work with the 2007 version and your current map should load with it. There might be a few missing entities though but I can't say for sure. To change the version, open Source SDK and before openning the hammer editor, change the engine version at the bottom to an older version. I would suggest 2007 as this is the last version before the current one.

There might be a few little things that might have changed and made it appear to be broken though, try changing the grid size with the '[' and ']' keys.

Hope that helps, good luck!

You need to modify a line in gameinfo.txt to mod in 2007.

change this line

SteamAppId 420 // GCF for Episode 2

with this one

SteamAppId 218 // GCF for OB
