Hi, so I want to create a game, it would be a 'hacker simulator', the life of notorious hackers.

It would be eventful and intuitive.
I have the knowledge of what to put into the game, along with my team, storyline, resources and the rest.

However, I'm not sure what programming language or engine I should use. I've been trying unity3d engine and it's quite nice, however, I'm not sure whether it would be a good use for my game or not.

I would like to have it simular to other simulator games, including Car Mechanic. (Simular as the character would have a room, this would be his only place to be able to walk, and hands. He would then sit down to a computer to start his hacking. This is where he would do his work.)

Games like uplink and Hacker evolution are also at inspiration, however I would like to make it more realistic and based on true information with the use of real work. Like executing a program inside of the game for example.

So, what engine and programming language do you think would be best?

Thank you.

Best regards,
Oliver.

Doom 3 GPL is already being used in this exact way: Blendogames.com

Go play some Quake 2: q2server.fuzzylogicinc.com
It's like Source v0.9, only... better!
Play Paintball for Doom 3!: d3server.fuzzylogicinc.com
Doom 3 Paintball to the Max!

That game does look alright, but is definitely not my vision. I hope for some better graphics and more realism. If you seen a show called person of interest, it would almost be like Harold Finch's job.

Is anybody able to answer my questions and give a thought? Any help is appreciated.
