hey,
If you have some time on your hands and your wondering if there is anything that you can do to get something in return, check this out, if you help Purgatory Games in making their new mod, then they will give you five percent of the profits from it. and other rewards to come in the future as well. But hurry, there are limited spaces, so quick email now business@purgatorygames.com

You're doing a mod for Half-Life? Can I ask, how do you expect to make money from it when the license agreement states that you cannot sell the mods you make? And also, if we're talking about money, why is the website so badly designed? It does not look very professional.

I may be wrong (and I apologise if I am), but I strongly advise people not to join this project and be fooled by the promise of 5% of the profits.

Wow you guys are really harsh, c'mon these guys are what, 15, they have a fairly good website for teengers who have no real experience. as for the money thing, that was pretty damn stupid.

Sorry about bringing this back up, but how did Gunman Chronicles work if you cant sell a mod? thought that was on the HL engine...

May 28 2003 Anchor

I'll say I don't know anything about gunman chronicles.

But there are a ton of games that license game engines and make games off them, and they look jsut like mods, except they are done at a professional level. The point is they buy a license to use the game engine to sell and make a profit, if you don;t purchase the license then you're not allowed to make money off of it.

Now a company could buy the mod and then sell it (assuming it's the company that made the engine, or the company also buys the license to the engine)
