Got me a new idea!! Desktop Themes! Thread

Hello. I know this may have been mentioned before, but sounds to me like a good advertisment for a mod.. Fact, think i may have to get workin on my own!! Tell me what you all think of the idea.. Maybe someone else jumped on this idea, and you know where where i could get a sample?? I myself like the thought of this..

Randomly placing backgrounds and such won't make a good theme. Rethink it. Perhaps a WindowBlinds skin would do good as well, i've done Inside3D skin at one point.

What do you mean in "Randomly placing backgrounds and such"? I had no intention of just making a background or something and calling it done... And you say rethink it, but you have no idea what i currently even have in mind...

sure.. although i already more or less explained this to cheap on inside3d.. Guess i should prolly explain a bit more here.. Basically, what he was saying though... Like how he mentions the WindowBlinds skin, thats exactly what i was thinking... I am just saying, i have no intention of makin something in 5 minutes that will be completly dull and boring, and really a waste of my time. Just when he says randomly placing backgrounds and such, i have no intention of doing anything randomly at all...

perhaps do it thoroughly enough to give us the hacked dll files so that we dont have to use windowblinds...

Well i am fairly new to this, so not sure how i will get to what i want, but i will all in time.. I still have my idea.. But this won't be able to happen until i get farther in my mod.. At least not until i finish the elementals..

there ARE a few things i can begin, like icons for recycle bin and such.. But the main background must wait..

huh?? Tell ya wut, this is going off in the wrong direction then what i was asking really. I was just looking to know if a desktop theme of some kind sounded good for a mod, and if you know of any ppl that have done this...

i think it sounds grand, and its prob been done, but i personally have never seen one before

Well so far i got the recycle bin and sound for it done.. Not too sure with the sound, but i got plenty of time to change it. I am doin sounds and icons first cause they are easiest. Background must come last, cause i need to finish more creatures. So far my idea for it is a section on top will be black with red lettering say Minions of Darkshadow. Then it will slowly fade to red, and there will be a picture of Darkshadow and most of the creatures standing. Glad to here ya like the idea.. Im workin it on hard now.. will finish it in maybe less then a month!

not sure you should have moving background... any animation in bg's sucks memory

No, i didn't mean moving.. Just a stillshot of them all standing. What i mean with the fade was at top is black, then lower and lower on the background image it changes to a red.

ahhhh, i thought you meant that there would be animation in it... i was gonna have to hurt ya if ya did that

.. Na, cause 1. It would be a distraction, and 2. As you said, would eat memory.. So far i have the reclcye bin empty and full icons done, the network neighborhood done, and my computer done, with empty recycle bin sounds, and the question sound.. I really like what i did with the my computer image.. I managed to take an in-game shot, and after really short editing, you can't tell at all!!
