I understand your frustration, but please do not post offending (aka spam/malware links) links. You run the risk of others clicking the link and getting the "infection" themselves. I suggest you run your Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware/ANti-Spyware programs. It is not likely Desura's website, but something you picked up from some other less than reputable site you visited.

I reccommend Microsoft Security Essentials, Super Anti-Spyware, and Malwarebytes. They have served me well for years.

1) I don't know if you are officially part of this site or what.. but hey, it happens only here. So take your condescending little rant elsewhere. If you are an official, you need to be taken to task, never immediately jump on the end user blaming them. That is the worst possible way to handle people.

2) I wasn't on the desura site at the time. It was either Moddb/indiedb, I don;t know/don't care if the sites run different adds. I have not gotten the pop up for some time so odds are it was fixed by now.

blaming an end user immediately, I would expect that from some 20 year old kid but not from a 30+. Sometimes the adds get popups, it has been a problem for years here. Don't go blaming the person reporting it or jumping on them with accusations.

There should be no popups, sometimes our advertiser gets a little brave and does what it wants. So just report it all to staff within the nominated threads.

I was not being condescending nor was there any blame/accusations. I was providing basic help as a friendly courtesy. I have learned that you never assume just because some one plays video games that they know something about Information Systems. In this case you provided no information other than your title and said offending link. Since you feel that I was placing blame and that somehow a persons age has something to do with their knowledge of Info Sys, in this case from your response, I would assume you know better than to provide a link that you know to cause Spam on your system. Unless you wished to inadvertantly infect other users.

If I were to be bold and brash I would say you took offense because you do visit other offending sites. However this not my concern, my sould concern truly was that less Tech/Info Sys Savvy folks do not click or accidently click the link you provided.

IndieDB seems to bring up quite a lot of popups. Seemingly more than ModDB, but that may be an illusion.
