Gangwars Thread

Yes, Gangwars. I know some of you heard of the mod for Half-Life. Some like it, some hate it, but all you need to know is that its back in action! The community (including me) got ahold of the SDK from the leader and decided to update Gangwars by fixing bugs, adding new features, and making it compatible with steam. Those group of dedicated members are known as Gangwars Alumni. One of the two updates is being released THIS WEEK! It includes bug fixes and alterations to the previous version, and it fully steam compatable. The other update, the big one, which is Gangwars 1.5, will feature brand new models, sounds, graphics, new gamplay features, new interface, and alot more! Im just trying to spread the word, and attract more people back to Gangwars because its a real fun mod to play. Yes its official, Gangwars 1.45 has been released! Go download it at Ecstasisband.com , only 75 mb's! Gangwars is a real fun game, so I urge you to all go check it out.

yea dude that game is pretty fun... It would be cool if they could implement vehicles so you could do like drive bys and hit and runs and stuff thatd be killer

Gangwars is looking for a skilled coder for our next project, which is 1.5. Gangwars 1.5 will be a whole updated version of Gangwars, implimenting new weapon models, maps, sounds, sprites, code, gameplay, and possibly player models. Mostly everything is being re-energized and in our own unique way. The things to be coded are listed down below.

We're looking for a coder to take us into the world of Gangwars 1.5. The best candidate for this oppurtunity should have at least 8 months of experience coding with the HL SDK and/or a modification.

The primary goals for coding 1.5 will be:

1.) Porting over our very old SDK to the latest possible version.

2.) Adding voice support.

3.) Fixing the many syntax errors in the current Source to allow us to compile for Linux.

4.) Coding support for "drugs," an important new addition to the final version of Gangwars on the Half Life engine.

5.) Other assorted changed that are being discussed

Btw, we are still looking for a coder. So for any and all of you coders out there please reply if would like to help, we are in need of another coder. The reason is to help porting Gangwars to the new HL SDK. Currently its using an outdated SDK that has never been updated, and we think if we do so, Gangwars will really jump off, also with the new additons to the next and final version of Gangwars, v 1.5.

lol... I really wanna help you guys out, but I can only map, and I cant do that really good. just send me teh model and keeping asking around for people that can skin, that way if I do a crap job (likely) its not really much of a loss.

u can map?!?!? can u make some maps for us? we need some based off various places, real life places, like gw_bay (san fransico), gw_angeles (los angeles), gw_bayou (down south), gw_philly (philidelphia), gw_bronx (new york), etc. you can use one of those names or be creative. we want a map made called gw_tenement, or soemthin like that, having to do with apartments, real close combat. just im me, and i can send u the usp or whatever, and u can make some maps.

The GA needs some guys to add to the team for 1.5. Some of these positions we are simply looking for a second person, some of them we're looking for a lead guy.
