modDB v2.0 in the flesh! Thread

Just kidding...

well it has finally happened... i didn't have the net for a week, i was stranded with my laptop and i thought, hell why don't i create the new design, i was inspired and came up with a few ideas, so yeah here are the exclusive first looks.

Now obviously this design is subject to change, and i suspect it will change a great deal in the coming months but there were a few key objectives in my mind, which i wanted to achieve when creating it.

• Make it more readable (i.e. the grays dont contrast much, hard to read)
• Simplify stuff, by removing what is not needed, and adding what is
• Keep the original gray colors but with a radical WHITE twist
• Re-order and reorganise things, to better suit the site
• Create something that can easily be made into different colors / templates (i.e. HL template, Quake template etc...)
• Create something fresh and radically different, and yet still modDB

This design unfortunatly won't be active for at least 4 months or so, but here is a taste. Feedback is apprecaited, but yeah i am absolutly stoked, and without meaning to blow my own horn i'm very proud of my design... theres alot of change in the air trust me, but all in all, it will rock, let me assure you of that!

I'm sorry i can't give you guys the complete design to look at.. that'll sorta happen one day before i go, then we can all look at it for the next few months before it becomes a reality

we can make a fire and just look at pics of it(then eventually one of us will go nuts but we wont worry about that till it happens) cant wait though should be very intresting to see the completed moddb v2.0

yeah, there is alot of change in the air... won't happen for some time but when it does... well modDB fever will take over

i like it... though i couldn't tell you my full opion with out seeing the enitier design

Apart from the lame font on the threadwatch, modwatch etc it looks damn slick.

that part is definatly not complete, just added some text so there was something to show... so don't panic

i like the current color so much, keep them 'warm' in V2

its very white, but it looks clean :o

Talked with azz0r about the whiteness... changed a few things around and now it is warmer and even sexier.. you'll see the changes in a couple of days when i can be bothered to screenshot em

Yeah that was my only complaint was that it was too white, I really dig the greys we have now. It's definitely the sex, though.

hmmm i like it but i preffer grey, maybe you should make an option so that we can choose the color or something, but it looks really good

damn i didn't think everyone would want the grays soo much! just wait a lil longer when i release more images with the changes see if you like it then...

i think however that the use of white is a must, the site is just so much clearer..

having said this, the new template will be the default, however for all you fans of the current site, i'll prolly make a template like it that you can use

but the site is pretty clear as it is! to much white may look... ugleh and bright on teh eyes depends how much white there will be i guess

Don't worry INtense!, I really like the white.
I like it so much that I set it to my background as some of the staff would know.
