Hey guys,

My friends and I are students making a small game, and would really appreciate it if you could have a quick click through the current version of the dialogue and give some feedback. The download link can be found at the top of the survey here

many thanks!!

Done. I think you need to work more on injecting voice and character into your dialogue (not an easy thing!).

Question 7 is a bit of a biggie:

The final game will be set in an explorable 3D environment. Do you think the narrator should be an actual part of the gameplay, or just have the narrative implied by your actions within the game?

I mean, it entirely depends on what sort of game you want to make. I can't give you feedback about that. If you want to have a characterful narrator describing the action, or make a 3d point-and-click adventure where the player character describes what he sees, go ahead. If you want the environment to do your storytelling for you, that's ok too.

I would say two things on that I guess. First of all I didn't like the narrative voice of the demo, so that was just transposed into a 3D environment I probably wouldn't be into it. Secondly, and probably more importantly, if you're going to have a narrative voice you need to decide who's voice it is. Is it objective, the voice of God? Is it just a "view" into the world, describing what you see? Or is it another character in the game? Or out of it? Who is telling the story? And what role does the player play?

You need to have some sort of understanding about how the story is framed: and based on question 7 and the inconsistent tone of the voice so far, I'd suggest that maybe you don't have that yet.
