In my opinion, carnis review is better, not saying perfect. What I read from azz0rs review, I could see in doom3 screenshots.

why not? Just cause its carni? This is moddb the review should be a lil more informative and well layed out.

It's because he doesn't care about other reviews. Plain and simple.

I can agree with the point though. Game reviews should have as little first person reference as possible. Big review though, good work Aaron.

azz0r good review, but it was a tad silly, unrefined (no headers, grammatical errors, etc) and you forgot to mention moddability at all! Someone should write a 'second half' review, reviewing the modding section of Doom 3. Because id put a lot more thought towards mods in this game than any previous game, by far.

well azzors review made it on planetdoom and carnis didnt

There were headings but I removed them, it seemed to vanilla like that.

I like part of what seems to be an increasing number of reviews willing to say doom3 might not be as perfect as we want it to believe

In essence, its not that perfect. Don't get me wrong here, the graphics are amazing. The gameplay however is redundant. In essence, ID has recreated the same game over and over only with better graphics.

I think it was a great FPS, but it only met expectations. Everyone wanted it to exceed expectations, including me. lol

I have to say, Doom 3 never really caught my attention. I've just never really been into the series. To me, it looked like a claustrophobic version of Far Cry with more sci-fi, and more horror. Meh.

Nope, just not blinded by hype.

That's for sure. They're looking at more than just graphics, apparently. Most of the top sites are relatively amatuer, but I'm surprised to see 1UP give the game Doom 3. They're quite a hard-bitten site, giving, in my opinion, some of the most thorough reviews. To see them give Doom 3 100%....meh.

Maybe they played it as if they felt something great that no amatuer game would feel. Maybe put yourself in the position as if this game really happen. See you can just put in the game and expect it to draw you in immediatly. I personally thought everything except the gameplay was superb. Though it was really scary.
