Creating A Mod: Mod Ideas Thread

Disclaimer: The following suggestions are merely ideas taken from existing games. Please be creative & make these ideas your own. Characters, storylines, & titles mentioned in the following suggestions should not be used in any mod without proper legal permission. Permission can be granted from the individual game developers & publishers. Any mod needing permissions from the suggestions below lacks creativity.

I originally posted a very similar thread in the ubi.com™ Far Cry Forums, but due to a lack of community response I decided to bring my interests here. I would like to narrow down the following ideas for a mod & need all the feedback that I can get. The mod will either use the engine from Far Cry or Half-Life 2. Once I have enough community response, then I'll need to a gather a team of developers to help me. Hopefully by posting my ideas here I can get more replies. Thanks!

Idea 1

A bike racing mod. Preferabbly BMX style but something along the lines of Road Rash would be cool too. The physics engine makes way for some awesome stunts & wicked crashes.

Idea 2

A Twisted Metal style mod. This would be perfect for multiplayer! Just be creative with the story & content and you'll make the king of mods.

Idea 3

Mario Kart or Crash Team Racing style mod. I could play something like this for hours, days & possibly months at a time. Be original with game modes! Make sure you incorporate teamplay.

Idea 4

Super Smash Bros./3D fighting simulation style mod. Rockin' battle music, over-exaggerated physics, amazing special effects.. what more could you ask for? Don't be afraid to add lots of gore if you're going for the whole Mortal Combat style gameplay.

Idea 5

Anyone remember "Gorillas," a game that came with QBasic? You would try to hit your opponent with exploding bananas by varying the angle & power of your throw. Occasionally you're enemy would be blocked by objects guarding your target until they were destroyed. Using various objects & the ability for "domino physics," this could keep any "gorilla" occupied for hours.

Idea 4 sounds just like OMF:BG.

I have a few good ideas of my own, my particular favourite is a form of survival-terror set in pre-war Germany, during the period under Hitler's rule (1933-1939), and including the war years ('39-'45), where the player plays as a Jewish Civilian. The player must do what they can to stay alive, and protect those he loves.

That just feels wrong...doesnt sound like something you should be playing. It will seem like people are mocking the situation. I wouldnt play it.

"Mocking". I'd hardly feel that experiencing that sort of situation would involve any sort of mocking. There are games far more poltically incorrect than my idea by a long shot. GTA3 allowing you to kill prostitutes, CS letting Terrorist players kill hostages? I think those two situations are far worse than playing as a survivor in one of the worst situation that any ethnic or religious group has ever faced wouldn't inv

Well so far it looks like the public would prefer a mod more like idea 4, which I'd like to say is very possible. Although, I have found myself fixated on a a mod more like idea 2 at the moment.

Idea 2 is too brief for me to understand. All the ideas are brief, but Idea 4 does sound cool.

After careful reconsideration I have decided that idea 4 is the community interest & would like to work at making this idea a reality. I'll update with more information as time persist & would like to thank everyone for helping with the decision.

I'd prefer idea 2, actually

use [ i m g ] in front and [ / i m g ] after your pic directory without the spaces in between
for example

Plus you tried sending unconmpressed BMPs

use [ IMG ] and [ /IMG ]

but take out the spaces
