Hi there Modb,

It's been ages since I last came on here. Suffice to say since I went pro it's been hard to get any free time to work on mods.

Anywhoos, small intro. I'm a professional Illustrator and concept artist who also has a day job as a graphic designer at a firm (mostly to pay the bills) For the past year or so I've been getting too many illustration gigs and rather a few concept work and I've realized I've been lagging in that area for too long and I need to get back into it.

What better way than to join a team on Modb. So I'm up for grabs but please only serious teams and those who have a good leadership base and an established presence.

Here's a bit of my work: (also more owrk can be seen on brashen.deviantart.com)

Hi Brashen! This is definitely some good stuff, but I have noticed a growing trend in illustrators who don't go very far beyond still concept images. Most indie teams don't have a lot of time and money on their hands, so they want to get as much out of their artists as possible. If you want to go 2D, I'd suggest developing even some rudimentary animation skills, which combined with your style would be incredibly impressive. Good luck!

What kind of a comment is this? Animation is a completely different skillset - I do believe you are talking about 3D animation and not 2D. It requires not only knowledge of 3D tools, but also about rigging, etc. I'd say of all the things you can do in 3D, animation is one of the toughest to do right (not counting simulation stuff).

He showed he can do hardsurface and organic work and probably wants to work on characters. 3/4 view is always nice, but I'd have found it most convincing if there was a character completely developed (orthografic views, pose, props, materiality). That would really fill the remaining questions, since I can't tell if the human character is really constructed from anatomy knowledge, or if he's just a paintover of some (or several) dudes. Either way, these are really good, usuable concepts, and if somebody is that far in his art, he'll either pick up some 3D skills to complement his knowledge or dig deep into 2D (anatomy, color theory, volumes, etc...) and become a really great concept artist.

There is definitely a poin to dsilver's argument, since people in professional work environments are often required to have 3D skills, too. It's a growing demand, for sure. However, I think any mod could work with what Brashen provides and his skills are high enough to join any project with his art. So, even without 3D or animation skills, I think you'll find a place, Brash.
