As long as Quake 2 has Linux server binaries, sure. Wait for Cheapalert to show up, he should know.

well im going to take an old computer and install linux on it and then just run a dedicated server all day. if its not possible for quake 2, then ill just do it for a valve game, but ill have to wait and see what cheapalert says.

Hell, Quake2 even provides a dedicated server shortcut when you install it (in the start menu)

your gonna run a server on an OLD pc you say? and anyway my windows has bluescreened possibly 4 times since buying it 3 years ago. and its noty like it would crash any other way apart from people over running the server which woulod happen on a UNIX/Linux server anyway

im taking an out-dated computer and installing linux on it. the only thing that computer will be used for, is to run a dedicated server all day.
