Black Hawk Down Thread

HEy all i need to put together a dedicated team to make this mod. It is for Half-Life(what isnt :lol) But its realy self explanatory. You play as either THe American Ranger/Delta force against the Somalis.
I will take all people who are willing to do some coding requests lots, or begining coding will be fine:)
I need a weapon modeler
Animator(would be nice)
SOunds technitiion would also be nice..

Im am not picky about how big the team will be. I will be accepting all people who wish to join//

So my big plan is to use vehicles. IT IS POSSIBLE. hoping to use blackhawks, Amrored veicles, ect. BUti will need a good coder so come on and help..

Do you know there is a Black Hawk Down game out? Its multiplayer, and the weapons are just o so excellent. If u want to match up to that, i sugest you try and produce some better quality models ^_^ , no offense tho.

I know my models arnt the greatest but im getting better. Being a cstrke clone that means more than half of the mods out there are cstrike clones. Yea theres is a black hawk down mod for bf1942 but thats a big game, and all gaming systems can not run it. So im just trying to make a mod for half life one more to the 398 already regisered

cstrike isnt a rainbow six clone.. cstrike is a poor attempt at realism with a semi realistic arsenal that is accuracy judged by sitting on ur ass or not.. ranbow six is a poor attempt at realism due to being too slow for player and no weapon models (a big negative on my 1st person shooter list) :/

Good point, I couldnt say it in an better way. But what I meant abou the Rainbow Six clone was the game was about, like Counter-Terrorist vs Terrorist. That is what Rainbow Six simulates, and I think its what CS tried to follow, but is made in its own unique way, especially with the gameplay, the recoil system, and the unique weapons. If people make mods that aim for realism, of course they are gonna call it a CS rip-off, but I actually say that CS is a rainbow six rip-off. They just took everything from R6, and made it how they wanted. When people make mods that have like terrorist in it, we have no right to judge it was a Cstrike rip-off.If it was a CS rip-off, everything would be the same. The characters, the leves, the weapons, the system of gameplay, and everything else in it. When people make realism mod, they actually try to aim for Realism, unlike cs. in you you jsut buy a gun and go kill people. But other mods that aim for "Realism" focus on teamwork, because thats what relism is all about. WOrking together as a team, and thats what soem mods try to produce, such as "Hostile Intent". They made a desicion to take out the kills column, an put in a Score column, based on your teamwork and not your kills, Now that mod is aiming for True realism. I think most mods should ignore what other people say, because they've played CS so much, they think about it all the time, and when they see a mod with terrorist in it, they call it a CS clone, because they are so used to that aspect of a game in CS, and CS only. So we need to stop producing very narrow aspects about different mods, by calling them CS clones, because the marjority of them arent, they just want to make a game.

counter terrorists and terrorists are real.. no matter what scenario there in if its based on real ones there going to be similar.. its liek the m4a1 in far cry.. everyone said the hand with the cliche black glove and colt look exactly like cstrike's.. you know why?? because there both based off of the same gun!! and you cant say that if 1 game has a black glove then that ideas taken.. jeez..

wow i have goten two new members. FIrst is a weapon modeler and is damn good, second is a mod man who can basicly do every moding thing out there.

I realy need a mapper who can make some big maps,
and a Sound Technition....ANyone interested?
