I was wondering if there could be the ability to pay what you want and donate money for Desura Games. Also how about supporting BitCoin.

We will not be supporting pay what you want. Donating can be done externally and we won't actively support it. Your bitcoin suggestion is a good joke.

I was wondering why you don't have the option to pay what you want? It would help people who release their games for free and is now becoming a popular option just look at humble indie bundle or Indie Game Stand. Also there is no Downloads option for the games so you can't include cool extras like wallpapers or the soundtrack kinda like GOG.

There is downloads. Just add /download to the end of the URL. Pay what you want only works when you have a lot of sales in mass. Otherwise both parties get reamed with tax and credit card fees.

What if you make pay you want presented as a gift like this Derpyhoovesnews.com .And if you use bitcoin then it can't be taxed right?

Developers are free to run their own events and whatnot we just won't be supporting those pay models in Desura. Also pardon my french but fuck bitcoin, it is dumb.

Bitcoin seems like an economic disaster waiting to happen. To be fair, I get the idea of making a system independant of banks and goverments, but I don't think it will be very long until they start messing with the concept themselves.

Now, what if we did it like in the move "In Time", where people pay with minutes off their lives? It's beautiful, because we are spending a lot of time playing videogames.

The same could have been said about GPL and creative commons but they proved to be successful. I like an economy run by the people rather than the government.

What, you want to tug around some pigs and barter for payment? No, that would be more sensible than 'people powered imaginary money.' Id rather invest it in some nigerian prince to get a hold of his wealth and pay me back a thousandfold.

BitCoins on Desura to me just seems like a kookoo idea. In fact the whole BitCoin system seems a little kookoo to me.
