Since Mid-2015 there have been an Influx of Half-Arsed, No Effort, Terrible Quality, "Messup Mods", when they first came around there weren't many and they seemed harmless, but then for some reason there was an influx of Messup Mods which are just the default Video Game with shitty MS Paint Reskins and Annoying Sounds, this is starting to get out of control and more are starting to be made every Week and Month, if keeps up its probably going to damage Mod DB's Reputation.

We must put a end to this influx of Horrible Mods, Ban Messup Mods from Mod DB, keep it clean and free from these Effortless Mods! #nomessupmods

Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong Subforum, feel free to move this thread to the correct one.

I agree. Indiedb has an approval system for games. Mods should be the same way. If anything, at least make them per the approval of the game creator. That way, the person in control can scan for quality game content and additions.

So you want a certain "standard" just for people to put a mod up? Kinda make the "mod database" kind of pointless. then it's more like "Mod 'Only if we think you're worthy' database."

That may be true, but to a degree a mod has to at least mod the game. It's no different than indiedb not wanting a ton of click the clown remakes. And even still, I suggested the mod be approved by the game creator, or if they don't want that ability then they can simply allow all of them. My point is merely that allowing game devs to screen mods of their games could at least keep 'first mod' tries from clogging the site.

I do think there should be some care put into screening out the crap. I come on here to see works of quality not lazy half-baked junk mods.
