Avp2 problem Thread

I've been suffering from these problems for sometime:

I go to some server and start playing. After some time when some one kills my character, the game quits.

Sometimes the game suddenly reboots my computer. This also in multiplayer game.

So, I reinstalled it, installed new display drivers(I was having old ones) and then I tried some different gfx options for it. I thought it worked, but soon the game crashes again.

So what to do?

Possibly your computer overheated?

I ain't worked with lithtech engines much, good luck (but they are cpu hogs though)

Aha.. my computer is almost overheated all the time... but I have now disabled the warning beeping and shutdown computer from bios... But it still keeps doing those both.

owww, i wouldn't disable the bios warnings maybe you should consider buying some radiator/fan thingie?

I have same problem with ut 2k4, sometimes the game suddenly reboots my computer...

iv tryed diffrent video drivers and i even trayed format c: (not only becouse of that)...

and iv tested my RAM with this program, give it a try... run it from a boot disk...

Why dont you just buy a fan and fit it? It costs like £10 for a decent fan and will help your system stability and components lifetime.

I don't think it's an cpu overheating problem...

get some coolant gel for 80$ me has it and 8 fans :o

thing stays below 18*celsius

Hmm, maybe you can try downloading the latest AVP2 patch or visiting Sierra's AVP forums? Just a thought.

I do have the latest patch, I couldn't play it on the net without... I would have asked on the forum there, but my email was not accepted...

i had the same problem with counterstrike, you see, i have a laptop, and a VERY dusty room, dust got inside of my computer after a while it really started getting too much and soon my laptop just kept overheating when i played, i sent it in to Sony® corp in Dallas, TX and they cleared it ALL out, my laptop was the shit when i got it back i was sooo happy, but now the dust is getting inside again and now it starts minor crashes like 3ds max suddenly quitting every 5 mins, etc.

Gee, your fans are supposed to blow OUT not in.....

I've never had dust-related crashes, hell with my old 486 even. Covers work wonders

Now I got some blue screen and it told me that I might have some hardware problems and it also told that

Don't know what those means, but I'm gonna open my computer box tomorrow and push stuffs more tightly in their slots, just in case they're too loose..

Woohhoo! I solved my problem. It was dust. I cleaned the dust from my computer and now my cpu temperature dropped by 30 Fahrenheit. Now AvP2 works again. I played many hours now and then I got bored and I had to end it...

all that work and it was some stupid dust, well it was worth since it was for the sake of avp2

AVP 1 Original Recipe. Xp Pro Latest updates (No Sp2) -refuses- to goto game mode. You can see it running in the taskmanager but nothing else and I too have the latest and only patch they had for that game. Ran compatibity on 98 and 2000 and same no game. Any possible feedback would be great.
