I uploaded some Techno mix tracks onto my profile as downloads, but now they are gone. I guess they were not approved?
Is this a regular practice for moddb.com?
I noticed a "note" after I uploaded them that the administrator had to "approve" them as clean of viruses, copyright infringement, etc....
I was uploading them for independent game developers to use.

Do you have the copyright for your tracks? In every case you should have pointed out the evidence or you should have shown a permission from the author of these tracks. ;-)

Maybe it'd be a good thing to first register/post them somewhere more appropriate (a music/soundtrack website, etc.), then show... -_-

good call. I have them published on several MP3 websites. But I don't know if that will prove they are mine.
Thanks

And it doesn't seem a regular practice... at least I don't recall any such 'incidents', unless somebody reported a copyright infringement.

There's always the contact page, so you can hit Moddb staff up and ask them directly:
Moddb.com (or the bottom of the page, Contact link)

I thought about contacting them directly, but didn't try very hard to look for a link.
I'll email them and see what they say. I would love to give back to the modding community after all they have given to us.

Your downloads need to be linked to a group or a profile, we dont allow downloads to just be located on your profile.

In this case a music group or something, could be a possible solution... ;-) Just a suggestion.

There are already many music groups on ModDB...

I didn't mean creating one, but well... ^^

I noticed the linking option but I didn't want my music to appear on a game page.
So I have to offer my music to a particular mod or game so developers can download it?
Is there any other way to post music for developers?
I'm not so concerned about my profile showing music, but I would like to offer some files in my "downloads" section.
I have seamless textures, 3D models, music and sound effects to offer for the mod community.
How should I go about doing this?

Hmmm, you can join Mod & Share group and put your files to download:
Moddb.com

Then add appropriate downloads:
Moddb.com

They'll be shown only on Mod & Share group profile.

Thats it! I didn't realize there were different profiles for different uses.

I joined the Zero SFX group and they have music in their downloads.
Am able to upload my music to their group to give back to the modding community?
Do my downloads need to be approved?
