First off, it's the Japanese who developed this game, and it's big all over Asia, UK, and America. People who say DDR sucks obviously can't play it. But, I know about flahs flash. I normally go to www.ddruk.com,, but they've been having issues as of late. |

no offense, but I agree with hatebreed. I'm not as ignorant as he is, so I'll tell you why. I don't think DDR sucks per se but I still think it's retarded. it's not a game. it is not a true game to me. you don't really accomplish anything besides looking like a retard. If you take it seriously you look like an even bigger retard. I say instead of going to an arcade, and dropping your quaters into a worthless game, go to a club, pick up some chicks, and DANCE there, to GOOD music. look at it this way. if you "win" over a song in DDR, you get a nice high score thing. If you "win" over a girl at a club, you just might score. Edited by: Obsydian |

My friends and I play it, but I try my best on the dance pad but do pretty bad at it. I usually end up trying to make my friends laugh by jumping all over the mat, slapping the arrows with my hands, and all that. It's a lot better with the mouse, though, since it requires plenty of hand-eye coordination. I like being able to listen to music while playing a game. This just takes that concept and puts it at a different level. Rhythm games have always been something of a fancy to me, all the way back to Parappa the Rapper. Dance Dance Revolution, although being multiplied plenty of times with almost the same music, allows people to recognize emerging and popular house and electronica musicians. Personally, I like Paul Okanfold's music the best -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |

Because you can dance good at a game that looks really stupid if you moved it from the dance pad to the dance floor. lol My friend is really good at it, and he's just weird socially. haha -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |

"you don't really accomplish anything besides looking like a retard." First off, what the phuck do you accomplish playing "true" video games besides spending a little bit more of your life manipulating pixels on a screen? Secondly, the only people that look retarded on the DDR machines are the people that can't play it, but even then, it's all for a good time. Some of my best memories are going to the arcade with my friends after work or classes and playing DDR. And the people that take it seriously, look awesome. For instance, all of you K-lite users should grab "Mr. C Walk". I will conceed the point that anyone that tries strict DDR steps on the dance floor is a moron. DDR steps are not dancing. However, anyone that tries dance floor moves on a DDR pad (like using glowsticks and doing some liquid, pop locks, whatever..) will look pretty rad. Maybe I am too militant, but as a tournament-going fan of the sport, it irks me when people bash on the game because it doesn't involve sitting down, blowing stuff up, or driving a super fast vehicle through hordes of ninja zombies. Then again, I'm also naive. I thought I could start a thread to discuss DDR, like songs and moves and upcoming events. Should've known it would start a flame-off. Simply put, if you don't like DDR, fine, that's not what the thread was asking. But for you people that play DDR, anyone see how shafted the US got with Extreme? I mean, compared to the Japanese version (with 111 songs..), DDR EXTREME US has nothing! Edited by: Narcolepsy |
