Animaged gif not working in news preview Thread

Hi,

I posted a news story and loaded an animated gif as the Preview Image. I then went to indiedb.com and looked at the (un-authed) story and the preview image is not animated - just static. Am I uploading it incorrectly? Is there a format restriction I'm unaware of?

I tried adding the same animated gif file as an image (link below) and it works fine.

Not that I'm aware of, whats the fps of the gif?

I'll investigate this as it should be working

I created the animated gif at 30fps. I applied some conversions & compression to drive the file size down. Eyeballing it on my computer the # of images divided by the animation time it looks like ~45 fps.
