An alien invasion mod i MIGHT try... Thread

This is an idea i just came up with today... I have no diea what engine could be used, just pick one at random. And i may not even do this, so if someone out there likes this idea, your free to take off with it.

The basic thing of it is, is an alien invasion mod... Not too sure on how to build the gameplay of it, but that can all be worked out.. I would like to have this done in a high-graphic engine though... Maybe a fairly modern game to run it off of, like HL 2, or Doom 3...

Anyhow, this mod would however have one major difference it in... If you play a game with aliens invadin, or see a movie with it, it is ALWAYS the same thing... Aliens invade, kill a ton o' humans, humans fight back, aliens loose... Gets pretty lame and drab after so long, ya know? So, i figured why not make one BIG twist to it all... This time, YOU are the alien, and the humans are invading all killing YOUR species, and the ALIENS muct kill the HUMANS!

Myself, i like the thought of this.. Instead of the same old thing of humans kills alien, its other way around. You get to play a game where you kill your own species! Who knows, if i can get Minions of Darkshadow rolling here, and good feedback on this idea, i may start myself down on this path.. That is unless it has been done...

GTA 3 or VC would be neat engine for this, civilians running everywhere, loots grabbing anything they can find. it would be perfect! just change the Helicopters to UFOs and have them fly around and kill civilians.

But that's a city. We're talking about large crop areas, hills and villages with cows being abducted.

There's "Invasion from Above" or something like that, for HL.

Um... Wow... you REALLY missed it i think... Its not UFO's flying over earth killing humans... Its humans flying over an alien planet killing Aliens! In the mod, the aliens are the native being.. Humans are the savage killers this time destroying your species, and you are the poor primitive aliens who must defend your planet... This time, the HUMANS are doing the destruction and killing on a foreign planet, not the aliens..

I know how your kinda the major q1 fighter, but i think i have given up on q1 altogether... I will consider (IF i do this at all), but i think it will land in something a little newer...

lol i am so out of it. i went to bed at 12:30 last night and got up for work at 6.
4 and a half hours of sleep is very little sleep.....if you like coffee

I think that GTA would be the best for the pandamonium factor but i like FPS on my PC

How bout its played from diffrent people so that your not stuck with one character but you get to play as multiple people diffrent aliens

Im tired of the one type of alien on one planet like aliens wouldn't have variations on thier speciese if this is confusing ill elaborate later

I was thinking about it, and I agree GTA would probably bring that description into action.

BTW reminds me of the episode of twilight zone and an episode of futurama.

Well, actually, now that i tihnk on this, i think i am going to do this. Im gonna make my website for minions of darkshadow, then make one for this as well.. I am not sure on an engine yet, but this may get thrown over to doom 3 as well.. reason for this are:

1. nice graphics... (this really is not that big of a deal, but still a factor)
2. will be a while til released.. this will give me plenty of time to get to work.
3. maybe ppl will most likely buy it... this may, my mod will also get semi-noticed..
4. a basic shooter... shooters seem to be simple in build, and simple to tear apart..

I think a basic gameplay will be that you select your species of alien... there will be different species, each one being a different type of soldier. As the soldier alien, you will get missions based on the species you picked... at first you will be a nobody alien soldier, just another face in the crowd. however, slowly you will gain rank, and be noticed. You will continue to gain rank, and fight the humans in different sections of the planet.

A bit of style on this will be that you species is all about biological things... like, im sure that we all have played starcraft... you will be like the zerg, annd buildings and such being lifeforms... Of cource, with this will come some NASTY biological weapons....

I think it sounds pretty good.. How bout you all? Unfortunatly though, i can't get started on this until i get some model and sound editors for Minions of Darkshadow. So, if ya want to see THIS mod, join in to help with my first one..

Actually, ive changed my mind here. I AM going to do this, and i have decided what engine im now going to use: Half-life. Im gonna use that cause it has some decent graphics, with some good engine effects, its already released, and a lot of ppl have it.

Now, can anyone tell me where i can get a model editor for it??

could you do that cheat where you can see the player run so it dosen't look so much like HL

Dont know i think that when the "shareware" its a weird name part is up then you rgister or do you mean bie and not keygen it
