Ace of Nails for Quake1 is developing nicely. The mod will be completely finished fairly soon, and a beta can be downloaded here. One of the main highlights of the mod is the Spark Lightning code, which creates chains of lightning that look awesome and are a great deal more workable the Quake's built in lightning functions. Here is a meager example: The mod's other fine weapons include the Flak Cannon, Lava Rifle, Flame Thrower, Minigun, Li'l Ripper, and more. You can see more on the mod on its profile, and there are more Spark Lightning screenshots on this thread on the Inside3D forums. Not bad for Quake1, eh? |

oh man this mod has some great effects completely defies what people think of quake when they say "shit graphics quake has" and krazi, you mean good luck him i dont think he has a team -- Nothing. |

Thanks all! Yea, I've been a one-man-team pretty much since day one. I still manage to pump out a few interesting titles though. You can go to Best of the Void to see some of my other stuff, such as Galactix, Battle Mech, Jeht, and the hillarious Quake-e-Mon mod. Thanks for the encouragement, everyone! |

no, you need quake 1 very nice, and one question: aon uses the .md3 models (*cough* q3a machinegun), or you have converted them to .mdl? -- |

I cheesed it from Q1A, which had converted them for that reason. Converting back and forth between Q1, Q2, and Q3 isn't too hard at all, though. I've done the q2 hyperblaster before, and the q2 machinegun and railgun I ported over myself. They'd look nicer as .md3, though, the only problem being that would cut compadibility with engines that don't support .md3. T-RonX: Nope, unfortunately. However, I do have one stand-alone game. Check out Battle Mech on my site, if you're interested. The code for the lightning is pretty easily ported, if you want to put it into another mod. |

Wow, time to make ropes that wrap around things That would be pretty neat, or maybe just swinging ropes (where they bend..not like the cheap other 'swinging ropes' in Quake) --
