I was just thinking of some new features that Moddb could have that would potentially improve it. I then got an idea of a rating system. In my opinion this would be beneficial in several ways. For example it could seperate the dead/dying mods away from the very active and successful mods. This could then potentially lead on to another thing which is to determine what is shown on the front page. For example mods with the highest ratings would be shown on the front page.
This could also be used to help out with the MOTY awards.
What are your opinions on this??

There already is a rating system, you however can't search by it. This was a deliberate inclusion to prevent voting abuse.

You can rate mods and addons out from 1-10 in their profiles.

Yep, only released projects however.

Oh and its not up to the rating system to decide what is and what is not shown on the front page, people who make good news regardless of standing in the community will get on the front page.
