What does 'UVW' stand for? I've been wondering for quite a long time. I'm guessing the V stands for Vertex or Vertices. The W probably stands for Wark Waark! but I'm not sure. By the way, I am inching My Way up The Word Count List. --

In 3D graphics, they specify how the model's triangles and vertices are unwrapped in a 2D space so you can skin the model. When you are viewing something, U is meant to represent the forward direction, V the right direction, and W the down direction. (they are not constant because when the view changes, these vectors change) What do they stand for? Nothing. Like I said it's just another set of consecutive letters like XYZ (unless you've noticed already the alphabet goes STUVWXYZ) that is used to represent three different directions. Also, SB, I wonder who's spamming when I have 102 posts and you have almost 30 times as many posts as me. |

If you mean in modeling, I think it has something to do with UV-mapping...but I couldn't tell ya what UVW is. |

Commodus: That doesn't give you any reason to spam here. If you want to do that, do it in wuggawoo or something. I'm not sure if I should trust Commodus, anyone second what he says?
