3ds max edges are not correctly shown. Thread

hey everyone.
recently i installed 3ds max 2014 on my new pc and there i found a strange problem.
it looks like the edges of my models disappear for no reason.
i have no idea how to fix this. and i could not find anything similar.

i could use some help fixing this.

yes, i was in soft selection mode at the time. but that did not change it.
it looks like this happens when i scale the model larger.
