Total Chaos is a total conversion mod for Doom 2 that runs on the GZDoom source port. The mod is a survival horror set on a remote island known as Fort Oasis. The island was once run by a community of coal miners which one day suddenly disappeared, leaving behind the abandoned concrete jungle to waste away. Something, clearly, has gone very wrong with this place. Upon your arrival at Fort Oasis, you receive a strange radio transmission. Someone wants to he found. Survive in 6 chapters, against over 8 horrifying fiends with a large assortment of weapons.

- Bricks no longer deal explosive damage to self
- Scissors take up more stamina on use
- Firearms won't shake the screen as much when a shot connects

- Collision fixed on table in the first voice chat room (Arrival)

Cool, but for me the game still freezes for a second every time I glance into a new location.
How much RAM does your system have? Also do you have gl_precache turned on? (it should be by default)
I have 4 GB RAM + 1 GB NVidia CUDA video card. Yes, gl_precache is true.
Might be running out of memory, you will need more RAM, or give the retro version a go when it drops.
It takes me 6GB+ ram.(IDK is it ram leak) When I turn off gl_precache then it only need 1.8-2g

This is very strange...my Avast Virus Scanner detected some suspicious file. I can not start the game...
Avast is toxic.
I also have Avast, it does the same thing when I start up a new version of the launcher. It does its scan for about 30 seconds, then closes the game and opens it up again, it should only do it once. If you are having issues with it, then try going into gamedata and dragging totalchaos.pk3 onto gzdoom, it should stop the Avast problem.
I'd recommend just using windows native antivirus paired with Malware Bytes. I've used that combo for almost a decade and haven't had a single issue with viruses or false flags.
Inventory isn't popping up when I push the inventory key

even with a redownload not working, I am using Win10?
and mine wont work on win 7 with a re-dl or a reinstall. Would be great if the author would reply, not being able to open the inventory makes this mod virtually obsolete

This appears to be a bug with the keypad at the start of the game. I'll fix it up now and re-upload, but for now to avoid it, avoid using the keypad at the start of the game. Sorry about this. Fix inbound!

The game looks sweet, but every time I press 'new game' it stops responding. Is there any fix?
Do you have a torrent file I can down for this mod? Attempting to download 1.4 GB through ModDB has failed repeatedly so far.
I've downloaded totalchaos_standalone_1000b.zip 3 times with Chrome. All 3 times the pk3 won't extract as it fails the CRC check.
Is this a repost with the keypad fix that is corrupt on Moddb? I'm going to try a mirror.

can someone please upload this to mega?? I'm getting sub 50 kbps which keeps failing after 5mb. They had the alpha on mega and i cant understand why this is the only place I can find to dl. Sadly, if they charged 5 bucks for it, there would be 50 places you could download it for free.

When I want to start a new game, the game start loading, and then I got an error message and it's said:

was wondering. i like the mod alot. Awesome work. But is it possible that when i open my inventory that the game pause? i mean most games i have played with a inventory system lets you pause the game if you brows through the inventory. Dont know if that is possible in Doom though. but if it is that would be great. often when you got stuck with enemies around you. and you want to heal yourself you get killed because of it. anyway amazing stuff once again.
I was going through Icarus lives' first season of DOOM MOD MADNESS when I came across an older review for Alpha V2 of this mod, without spending too much time typing about this GREAT total conversion mod I will just tell you how holy this mod is in one sentence.....
