Hey guys i'm new to mods for C&C zero hour, i've downloaded ZIPs before but how do you download and install RARs, so could someone give me a tutorial
same as ZIP file just extract the file :)
With what is there a program that does that or can i just convert it into a ZIP?
Look normal windows can extract this files without any program. But I use winrar to do that.

yes, very nice - slows down the game a bit, makes you really focus on strategy. had some mismatch issues in multi- anyone else experience that? looking forward to further updates!

No - we made sure the ZH Data folder is exact - no difference in file structure, using latest patch. and when I said 'slows down the game a bit', i meant 'makes you concentrate on resource strategy and small unit command' and not spam units; very cool and very different from latest mods for ZH. BUT, we had FOUR mismatches in MP last nite while testing out mod - seems to happen when air is used...Russian, we think, but are not sure. Skirmish works great - kinda hard to play on a small map with few resources, as the AI REALLY comes at you! But is flawless in Skirmish mode. Using Macs, but *almost* every mod here runs in OS X, so...couldn't tell you where the mismatch issue is...we'll be testing again this week to see if we can help you nail it down. But THANKS - is a great mod and looking forward to further patch!!

when i played this mod the AI wouldn't work and i installed the patch, so could someone help me
ok, dumb ?, but did you make sure no other mods are loaded? ah - i see you're kinda new to loading mods, so here's a basic breakdown:
A) If you've ever loaded ANY kind of mod, do a fresh install of ZH (make sure you run the 1.04/1.02 patch - Generals is 1.04, ZH is 1.02, both need to be run (when you do the ZH patch, it usually patches G, too).
B) After you've done both, now go ahead an unzip teh mod - put the files you unzipped into the Zero Hour Data folder 0 NOT the User folder, the NOT the DATA folder - the Main ZH Data folder.
C) Play to your heart's content.
A caveat is CnC Ten yr. Anniversary or something like taht - basically, if you have the G and ZH discs, you're golden - if you have the 'set' or w/e, it may require more (DK, since i only have the original game discs/images, i couldn't tell you). Hope my 10 cents is helpful! PM if not, and I'll see what i can do.
oh! and for every mod, my pals and i backup the ZH Data Folder and name it to the mod - us po' Mac gamers no have Croesus, so we live w/backup folders w/e we want to reload a mod, w/out goin' thru re-install. Ur on a PC, so you can run Croesus - look into that if you dig ZH, as it makes managing *most* mods easy! Good luck and Good gaming!
For AI you need to read the readme there you will see how to put skirmishscript file in your zero hour, data-scripts folder :)

After 2-3 weeks I'll upload a new big patch with few new units for USA and some balances and bug fixing :)

great job. just played the 1st skirmish and its great!!! the unit models are brilliant!!!!!! however i found mig-31s does not go for a reload properly when patrolling. Will confirm this after a few more games.
i think its not a bug. Migs do not need to reload it seems :). One more suggestion. Why don't you remove the TOPOL-Ms targeting restriction. Currently we can target only on buldings but not anywhere else. It would be great if thats possilbe. It gives the ability to take out chunks of enemy ground units :D
The Topol-M can engage units to. Just click on the unit instead of building. Also the missile follows the targeted unit and then release the war head. So this weapon is very useful in right hands.
Yep i noticed :) But i feel its a bit overpowered. Several of them can simply flatten a base and you can win without sending a single ground unit
Don't forget that this will cost you a lot of money and Topols are very weak. your opponent will easy defeat you if you count on Topols :)
Yes, but playing against the AI, its too easy. I played against china and they sent an arty attack. But as soon as i heard it i moved it to another place and all is well. But it'd be different if you were playing against a human opponent.
Btw the destroyed TOPOL-M husk is pretty cool. That looks great!!!!

I CAN'T DOWNLOAD IT! WHY OH WHY does it have to be a .rar file? I can't pay for Winrar Vista version so I can't open it up. Is there any chance that in future there could be one with an install? I don't want to sound demanding, but it's really frustrating that I can't get it!
vulcanboy607, why don't you goto the winrar web site and download UNrar?, (under extras) this is a free utility they offer.
BTW what kind of problem you having in UN-raring the file(s) in vista? TMK there is no such thing as a vista only winrar.

i'm copying generlas into 2nd folder now so ill have this mod and global crisis mod but i think this 1 is better can't wait to try !
