Full version of the mod, most notably including 22 new ammo types, modified campaign levels, bullet drop/penetration, and many weapon and vehicle changes. Download includes extensive documentation.
I cant find the level "Assault" in my levels folder... I have exported all the other ones, will that effect mah game badly?
That's a mistake, sorry. "Assault" should say "Harbor" instead.
Hey, this mod sounds too good to be true.
Gonna check this out and give feedback
Maybe you should try to make those new number 1 things be changed to others in the row like 6 7 8 and be working by pressing em lol...
I'd like to, but that would be flash editing and that's not something I know how to do.
will this work on the steam version of crysis? the mech warrior didnt fully work for mine.
It should, but I can't say anything with complete certainty.
Hey regarding Mech Warrior try the desura installation that should sort it out XD
Works for me with steam version.
Hey, is there an installer, or is there somewhere i put it?
Unpack the downloaded file with winrar and copy/move the folder inside called "Tactical-Expansion" to your Crysis\mods folder.
this mod is like a dream come true for many of us
this is awsome, but from what i can tell from the readme, i need to integrate the ammo pickups myself?
if so, how do i do it?
It's all in the readme file. For the campaign you just need to open the levels in the modded editor and export, but for custom maps you would need to place the special ammo yourself if you wanted to use it.
I admit it's not the easiest mod to install, but unfortunately there are limits to what I can do with coding alone. Uploading the level.pak files would be illegal as far as I know and the download would be ten times bigger.
where is the read me file?
i made a mod folder in the game file and it still don't work
I can not play the mod
Help me please !!
Could you be more specific, please?
If the issue is crashing, make sure your folder structure is correct. The folder in your mods folder should be called "Tactical-Expansion", and should have 3 folders and 2 files inside it.
I extracted the files from the RAR to the crysis/mods folder. now I need to go to the sandbox editor and start a level so the changes fit in?
Yes, if you want the new ammo pickups to be in the levels. I admit it's not the fastest install ever, but it's the only way to add objects to the campaign levels without (illegally) uploading the level.pak files.
Let me know if you have any problems. :)
OK thanks. dont want you to get in truble for that ;)
one last question so I an be sure.
I start the level "Island" with the sandbox. exit and then start the game itself and the new ammo is in the game? or I need to play the level trough the sandbox editor.
Sorry to bother you but I cant get the sandbox running with the modified shortcut. I enter the sandbox -> open -> island. and after 5 seconds the editor crashes. it says "CryENGINE 2 Sandbox 2 (TM) has stopped working" windows is checking for a solution to the problem... and then crashes to the desktop.
First comment: You need to load the levels in the sandbox and click *file->export to engine* after loading each one. Once you've "exported-to-engine" each level, you can load the mod in the game with a modded shortcut just like with the sandbox.
Specifically, this exporting procedure modifies the file that I can't upload.
Second comment: If it's crashing, plan B is to move the levels folder located within "Tactical-Expansion/Game" to the "Crysis/Game" folder. Merge the folders and overwrite files when prompted.
Once that's done you can load the *default* sandbox and proceed with the open level + export procedure. Note that you won't actually see the new ammo pickups when you open the levels in the sandbox, but in game you will.
I have merged the folders and open the sandbox. iv got the improved SCAR and the 50 cal in the sandbox but when I try to "export to engine" it crashes on me again.
uhm sorry to bother you again.. Iv got the mod working. the ammunition is in place but the AI ruined. the koreans just standing there and doing nothing. i shot them, the die but their friends just look at me and shouting stuff.and most weapons have unlimited ammo. i empety the clup' switch to another weapon and switch back and its full again.
mayde i did something wrong? i used plan B to get the modified levels
Ok....that's more than a little weird. Are you running the 1.21 patch? I haven't tested the mod on anything earlier, so all kinds of craziness could happen with an earlier version.
Yeah the game is up to date. when I play trough the sandbox i can see the ammo locations and I can pick it up but I cant use it.
Also when I export to engine the sandbox still crashes
Ok, here's a few things that could potentially go wrong:
1: Did you rename any folders when installing? If so, this would prevent the mod DLL from loading and cause the problem of not being able to use ammo after it's picked up.
2: Check that you only copied the "Tactical-Expansion" folder from the extracted .rar to the mods folder, and not the whole extracted .rar.
3: If there are minimods (drop in .pak files) in the Crysis/Game folder, they could cause issues with file conflicts. I'm not sure how the unlimited ammo glitch could happen, though.
4: Possible it's just a random editor goof up. Sometimes the program glitches and could cause the AI issues. Try copy/pasting the backup level(s) back into place and exporting again.
5: Failing that, I would try redownloading. I highly doubt the file got corrupted but I guess it's worth a try.
Great mod! but can I use the super scar mod along with it?
You could, but all the attachments I added for the SCAR wouldn't work.
i dont have a readme in my file can you possibly help if possible?
nevermind but can you still help me put these mods into the editor im confused on what to do with the modified shortcut
You add " -MOD Tactical-Expansion" to the end of the target field. Be sure to have a space before "-MOD".
Then just click on the modded shortcut after you get done making it.
Hey Kilroy357, I absolutely love the mod, you did a great job, but there is one or two hicups that i can't get past.
#1. I had to install through desura, it worked but i can't play the sandbox, now before you flip out and start yelling at me through cyberspace that I didn't read the "DON'T READ ME" file heres the second hicup.
#2. CRYTOOLS CAN'T FIND MY INSTALL!!!! Now as you would know that would majorley suck cus u need that to install the level.pak files properly, I played half a level and there where no ammo pick-ups, but thats due to not exporting to engine through Crytool's but crytools can't find my install as I mentioned.
So, at that note i would really appreciate your help, I read a couple comments befor and you seen to really give a ****, unlike some other developers.
Again thank you!
Plan B is go to Crysis install folder/Bin32 (or Bin64, depending on your OS).
Right-click on editor.exe -> create shortcut -> cut/paste shortcut to desktop.
Right-click on shortcut -> properties
Add " -MOD Tactical-Expansion" to the end of the target field.
Make sure there is a space before "-MOD".
Then you can use the shortcut to load the sandbox with the mod.
P.S. I watched ur display vid and man you hit the nail on the head for overkill, but......sometimes a mod has to do that to be fun. ;)
I would love to do a mod with you at a later date for Crysis 2 or something, and im pretty shure i dloaded a couple of ur doom 3 mods and i addored them, you'r a top noch modder bro.

Thank you, though I've never done any D3 mods. That must have been someone else.
I don't have skype, but I wouldn't mind working with you.
