Sudden Quake, a mod that takes the story and creatures of Quake 2 and Quake 4 into the Sudden Strike 3 engine, to scale up some of the most intense and horrific battles in science fiction. This is the latest version (4).
Install instructions:
Simply unzip the files to a folder, and play using the exe file (SS3Game.exe) inside it, creating a shortcut to this if you wish. You can also find the map editor (MapEdit.exe) located there if you wish to make more custom missions with the mod's resources. You can edit the custom mission "Hovertank Cruise"

*improved skin on Strogg troop transport based on source material
*remastered Marine Walkers with textures from Quake 4 and rescaled smaller, to fit with vehicles and robots in the mod and present a smaller target
*new "first wave" varieties of Marine skin (male and female) inspired by Quake 2 with exposed arms
*corrected Marine attacks on the Strogg right flank (west side) in "Castles of Doom" to prevent endless crowds of enemy vehicles there even after the bridge is destroyed
*corrected Marine troop movements in "Castles of Doom" to be ordered at 45-second intervals
*corrected fortified wall section in "Castles of Doom"
*corrected bridge type in "Castles of Doom"
*rescaled and rebuilt Strogg harvester uv map, skin and model based on Quake 4 source material
*added more detail from source material to Marine hovertank texture
*replaced Marines and Tacticals' ingame faces with shrunken down screenshots from Quake 4 or related mods from the engine
*replaced chest plate detail on Marines and Tacticals with captured detail from screenshots of Quake 4
*improved firing animation (kickback effect and synced correct) on Strogg heavy hover tanks
*improved hornet skin using source material from Quake 4
*corrected script on "Canyon Chase" to add Marine defeat conditions
*removed previous female marine voices as they clash with male voice schemes
*slight addition to the ambient battle track with more content from Quake 4
*replaced all remaining US WW2 dialogue with Marine dialogue samples from Quake 4
*included Quake 4's female pilot voices sometimes when female marines are selected
*added Strogg Iron Maiden voice sound and repair bot chatter only when unit is selected as per example of original SS3 game (no other voice for units)
*massively enhanced the orbital bombardment effects and these always use the loud blast sound from Quake 4 (same as blasts from Strogg heavy hover tank and harvester rockets)
*added crouched animations (idle, move, attack) for Strogg gunners and light tanks and allowed them to be a smaller target in this mode
*implemented Strogg nailgun sound loop from Quake 4 as a variant of Strogg autocannon sound for battles
*numerous death sounds, gib noises and bullet impact sounds from Quake 4 added to replace original Sudden Strike 3 sounds
*improved Strogg harvesters further by adding firing animations
*resolved problems with Strogg harvester clearly showing its missile launching (missile itself now has its own smoke trail while launching vertical and harvester plays a launch animation at the same time)
*lowered Strogg stream protector weapon particle trajectory to more appropriately hit targets/line up with impacts
*rework of idle 2 animations for female marines to be less goofy (frames 1-17 only)
*several particle system swaps to get rid of plant debris and green debris in explosions, and further match sterile Stroggos environments
*changed flamethrower weapon sound to use Quake 4 sounds
*reworked range/priority settings on SMC Walker so they use their MG on infantry or when out of ammo at same ranges as a hover tank
*swapped air strikes for improved orbital bombardments in custom mission "Canyon Chase"
*boosted bombardment ammo reserves of the MCC in ground-deployed mode
*added more bombs to Strogg flyer attack for more of a cluster-like effect
*replaced Tacticals' idle sounds with their vehicle idle schemes
*increased turret rotation speed on SMC hover trucks and Strogg tactical carriers
*applied change log to scenarios requiring unit parameter resets (ammo of the MCC)
*corrections to messages (reinforcement direction etc) in all scenarios
*full proofread of scripts with any obvious corrections to all scenarios
*aesthetic improvement to the Nexus map
*bounding radius correction to Strogg Tormentor Tactical ground variant, matching the larger model
*corrected Strogg Tactical ammo carrier unit type to "service", so scripts can read and monitor their numbers properly

Note: I fixed an objective in Operation: Advantage (Marine campaign) today on 25/06/2023 and the file was updated, but not as a new official version of the file. I apologise if you played that very long mission and got stuck on it like I did.
