The latest version of Return of Shadow adds the Harad faction to the mod as well as rebalances and fixes many existing bugs.

Harad
Harad is a faction that emphasis hit and run techniques while building up your resources for the powerful Mumakil.
Supported by powerful late game infantry units like the Harqa Warriors and the Corsairs of Umbar.

Overhaul
Southron Edition is starting a new rebalancing process that will conclude in the next Edition.
Some units have been changed and removed as the mod is being streamlined.
I've also removed the Stewards and currently disabled the Renown system.
Dunland have lost their reinforcement system getting Hounds and Wildmen from the start but they also lost the Axethrowers and Hobelars.
Lothlorien loses their Expansion system as well with the Caras Galadhon units being available normally and the Edhellond units and Elminas being removed.
On top of that the mod is getting a gradual visual update you'll notice new looks for various heroes and units like Gothmog, Grishnakh, Mordor's Orcs.

Black Edition
The Southron Edition is going to serve as the base for future releases including the Black Edition.
Southron can be thought of a part 1 of a greater overhaul with Black Edition being the second part.
So if you see any bugs or glaring balance issues head to the discord and report them there so that they can be addressed for the Black Edition.

what patch do i need to play this?
1.03 or 1.06
I cant play the mod :/ After I install the mod, nothing happens when I click the launcher.
Make sure its not being blocked by anti-virus.
I have no antivirus:/ I double click to the launcher. Nothing happens.
Run the launcher as admin maybe.
If that doesn't work head to the discord and we'll see what we can do.
good Lothlorien misson is has bug, Even if all goals are achieved, misson is not cleared.
Help, the game starts without the mod.
You have to enable the mod through the launcher first.
I do this, literally, i press play in the launcher and start the vanilla version :(
Maybe check file/folder permissions, check your anti virus.
If you're having an issue with getting the Launcher to run try running as admin.

does campaign work with this mod?
Somewhat at least the good campaign.
Evil you can play up to some of the later stages.
Does the company work for Mordor?
when I try to launch it, it says cant find the executable file for the game/mod.

yes i get the ros launcher, i hit play and then it says "Warning cannot locate executable file for the game/mod check and see if the game/mod installed properly"
Thats what it tells me, mod looks awesome i really wanna play it!
Sounds like you're running the launcher from outside the installation folder.
Make sure you run the actual launcher from the zreturnofshadow folder inside the game folder.
Although you might be the guy I was talking to in discord earlier if so ignore.

Try to run it as administrator. It worked for me, even though I didn't get any warnings as you have

one more time...it seems nobody is never online on moddb...every time i play a game it crashed after 10minutes weather skirmish or campaign this has been a problem for me since the beginning can someone give me a dialog of what and why its crashing

to admin and/or creator of this mod ! please make a better install info for this mod ! because there are to many questions 1. what core system do i need to run/install this mod x32 bit system or x64 bit system?. 2. what main patch is needed to run/install this mod the vanilla 1.03 patch or custom 1.06 patch?. 3. do i need an old installed version of this mod to run/install the new version - if so! what old version is it and how to install it and where to find/download it?. 4. after a long or less download time how long would it take to install it for a mod of that size of over 3.5gb, will it start quick to install or do i have to wait for it more than a hour via the installer exe = (is very slow to extract)?. 5. what important steps are to be done after or before a successful installation "before run for the first time" any files to copy and/or to save from appdata folder or main install folder - if so! what are they and where to copy and save them?. 6. is it possible to run this mod next to other mods without of deinstallation "return of shadow" - if so! how to do it what are the main steps to do it?. --- i write this just for a better understanding of how things are running and working, so all people who are new to mods and/or the game itself, have a better chance to learn what/how they are doing. thnxx a lot.

Nejde mi spustit tento mód po nainstalování verze 1.0, se spustí klasický bfme 1, jak to můžu změnit? Po nainstalování verze 1.5 hází chybu hned při spuštění!!

Mod installé, je vais dans le dossier "_zReturnOfShadow" je lance "ReturnOfShadow" en administrateur et la fenêtre RoS s'ouvre. Jusque là tout va bien. Malheureusement lorsque je clique sur "Play" le jeu se lance sans le mod. Je n'ai pas l'antivirus, il a été désactivé avant l'installation.
Que faire svp?
