2.0 version that contains various tweaks and will be NECESSARY to use the upcoming 'Road To Rome' and 'Secret Weapons' versions of the mod.
SmitBerg Modding Corporation AI ModV2.024 October, 2013
- Three new maps: Operation Sealion, Tiger Ace and Road To Berlin. (Slight tweaks by myself to fix some issues my AI were having)
- Laid the foundations for 'Road To Rome' and 'Secret Weapons' addons.
- Many various miscellaneous tweaks to various things. (Probably all of it irrelevant to you, the player. Mostly de-cluttering some of the RFA files)
- Stability vastly improved, even when installed to 'Program Files' folder.(1)
(1) On my own machine, I now install my games (and most other things) to either an External Hard drive, or to a folder other than 'Program Files'. (I actually created a folder called 'Programs' in the root of my C:\ Drive) Doing so avoids any potential issues arising from Windows UAC interfering with things. I also run BF1942 in Windows 98 compatability mode.

***************Install Instructions:******************
You will NEED to extract the SMC_AI_MOD_20.EXE from inside the .7z file you have just downloaded. (SMC_AI_MOD_20.7z)
Run the installer and, after reading and accepting the pop dialogs, select your BF1942 root directory. (This is the folder on your PC where your bf1942.exe is located)
You MUST uninstall any previous version before installing this one
Even though it is in the description, black and white, clear as crystal, I will remind you: You must un-install the 1.0 version before installing this one.
Also, I apologise for this being a 7-zip file.
This was necessary to keep the file size down.
If you don't already have 7-zip, you can download it from here:
7-zip.org
It is a truly wonderful compression utility.
Should I be running the "Play SMC AI Mod.bat" file? As it seems, with this mod, all maps crash after some time in game (singleplayer) NOTE: This just recently started to act up, it was great in the begining.
Hi, and sorry for the extraordinarily late reply.
Yes; either run that .bat file, or launch the mod from the 'Custom Game' section of the game menu.
As for the crashing, I can safely say that I have no idea; BF 1942 was a temperamental game enough on release, and the years have only exacerbated it's issues.
All I can recommend is the usual;
1) Run the game (if using Vista or later) in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode.
2) Run the game (if using Windows XP SP3 or later) as Administrator.
A Google search will help if you don't know how to do either of those.
3) Last resort; Re-install the game to somewhere other than your Program Files (or Program Files (x86)) folder.
