This is developer files build of STALKER: Legacy of Times mod for Crysis Wars from 20.06.2020.
It contains the complete set of development files the project possessed as of June 2020, all files that are required to edit the main level + tons of unused content, except for the C++ source code. The leaked version was basically this build attached to an installed copy of Crysis Wars game.
Installation instructions:
- Download the free Crysis Wars Trial from this link and install to the folder of your choice
- Patch your Crysis Wars with patch 1.5 from this link
- Optionally install the alterntive Crysis Wars launcher project from here for the better compatibility with Windows 10
- Download this dev build archive
- Extract its contents into your installed Crysis Wars Trial's root folder, agree to overwrite files if asked to
- The files are ready to be used
Things to consider:
- Due to the unholy amount of hi-res and non-cryengine-specific textures in the mod, the 64-bit version of the game will crash after the level is loaded, so the only available option is to use 32-bit mode.
- The "Stalker Legacy of Times.exe" is an AutoIt-compiled .bat launcher file and can trigger some antiviruses.
- The whole game is in Russian, no English localization is available.
- There are tons of bugs.
How to launch the game:
- Use provided .bat file inside the Crysis Wars/Mods/stalker_deadly_trails folder to launch the game
- Open the game console (~) and type "con_restricted 0", hit enter, then "map zone1", hit enter
- The AI is broken on start. When the level is loaded for the first time, you must hit F5 to do a quicksave, then F9 to do quickload. This will fix AI.
How to edit the content
If you want to explore the content in the Editor, you'll need to download the Crysis Wars Mod SDK.
Follow the instructions:
- Download the Crysis Ward Mod SDK 1.1 package from this link and install CrysisWars_ModSDK_Tools_v1.1.exe from it into your Crysis Wars folder.
- Create a shortcut for "Crysis Wars/Bin32/Editor.exe" with "-mod stalker_deadly_trails" launch argument
- Launch the editor with this shortcut, go to File->Open, select Game/Levels/zone1/zone1.cry
