Salamanders Mod for Soulstorm 2.0 file

Full version of the Salamanders race mod for Soulstorm 2.0.

Installation
Nothing special.
Just put (decompress) the new Salamanders and the latest Objective Points and FreeUI mods into your Soulstorm installation folder, and select Salamanders from the in-game Manager.

Note: This version is NOT compatible with UNIFICATION 4.68!!
You will have to wait for me to upload the next version. It is ready of course, and supports Salamanders at 100%, but as always... You will have to wait because there are more issues involved.

OK, this 2.0 version started with me and brother Kekoulis discussing the possibilities of Salamanders.
What started as a discussion, ended up in a total remake!!!
Needless to say, the visual quality is guaranteed - we are talking about brother Kekoulis here.
The same goes for the audio department, where Thudo once again performed his magic!
Let's not forget that the first version of Salamanders were (almost exclusively) designed and coded by brother Fuggles, so a big thanks for his huge effort - we simply built upon his "foundations".

New Content/Design
First, you will see that there is NOTHING missing. Everything you new in the previous version, is still here. Brother Fuggles'es design was already VERY neat :)
But now, there is much more!

The 2.0 version is also extensively tested, so you will have no CTDs or AI errors or bugs.
All the issues of the previous version are resolved as well, of course.
Balance is also very good - I dare say very close to Vanilla.

Regardless, whatever you find, WHATEVER you think is misplaced, or if you find something that is not appropriate to be in, just inform us!!
We try to keep our mods as proper as possible, but with the huge community and the plethora of assets circulating and all the peoples and modders involved... "Silly" things can happen. We may have forgotten to address credits, or included content that we were not supposed to, or whatever. We definitelly do not want to offend anyone, nor we want to be impolite.
So, please, whatever you see misplaced, just say so and we will fix/update/remove/add it, in an instant!

Brother Fuggles Original V1.1 Description
The Salamanders are a chapter who come from the planet Nocturne, which has very high gravity and because of this the Salamanders are bigger and stronger than other marines, albeit a bit slower to react to things. They have difficulty with using aerial equipment owing to the difficulties of training in such an environment. Further, owing to the radiation then they have mutated to have black skin and burning red eyes.

Followers of the Promethean Cult they believe in self dependence, so have trained in the art of manufacture and tend to field higher numbers of custom weapons, armour and as skilled blacksmiths, they have a lot of hammers. The cult values fire and so too do the Salamanders, who favour flamer and melta weaponry.

This mod is not strictly codex, what with them not having one, but is my interpretation of the chapter so I know there are fluff deviations in place.

A bit of background on this mod, if I may indulge you. This mod is my project, started by me on my own and with limited alpha testing to some of my DoW friends and buddies. I had to learn how to do a hell of a lot of new stuff and all the new textures, 2d Art and AE code is mine and the Salamander AI is heavily mine and at one point I was even audio editing! Basically, it started and ends with me. That said, the aforementioned DoW friends have been great with new LP's and unit donations to really make this mod something special.

The Beta was released the day prior to my daughter coming into the world and I am now far too busy to mod properly! For this reason, 1.1 is likely the final version, barring any crazy hotfixes.

I dedicate this mod to Matilda.
